Since Moon is acted as external HDAM and the CD63SE also come with the Marantz - HDAM.   I'm still doubt whether this MOON can give musical improvement to my system.

Hi Chua, when you said new power supply and clock, do you mean for Abel's CD73 or for Zero?

I saw from one of your previous post that you're going to mod your caps. I'm wondering if can also purchase those caps together with you? I think that's the final step to squeeze the rest of SQ from the Zero. Thanks!

i dont have all i just have small amount of the cap

shipping is very expensive. also i cant create account. looks like it does not serve outside usa.
*
why go for digikey they if those Elna only i get from oversea
u can try or this got Elna , Rubycon , Nichicon Muse etc.. but not all value available
http://hk.geocities.com/wkchenghk2000/orderformEng.htm

try farnell for more choice u just can try Panasonic FC . Rubycon ZL/ZA/ZLH this are low ESR good for PSU section

Example try to look for the impedance
* CAPACITOR, 4700UF, 10V
* Application:High Temperature
* Capacitance:4700µF
* Tolerance, capacitance:±20%
* Series:ZL
* Voltage, rating:10V dc
* Capacitor dielectric type:Aluminium Electrolytic
* Case style:Radial
* Pitch, lead:5mm
* Temperature, operating range:-40°C to +105°C
* Current, leakage:470µA
* Current, ripple AC:3400mA
* Diameter, body:12.5mm
* Diameter, lead:0.8mm
* Frequency, impedance:100kHz
* Frequency, ripple current:100kHz
* Impedance:0.015ohm <-- lower is better
* Length / Height, external:35mm
* Temp, op. max:105°C
* Temp, op. min:-40°C
* Temperature, impedance:20°C
* Temperature, ripple current:105°C
* Terminal type:Wire Ended
* Time, operating life:5000h
* Tolerance, +:20%
* Tolerance, -:20%
* Voltage rating, DC:10V

Chua, I'm interested but the shipping is really murder! Could farnell be a better place to order from as Abel suggested? Will you also be getting the 4x Sanyo OS-CON + 4x PIO bypass as stated under "Worthwhile cost effective subs - the 4 x 100uf 25V caps around the dac chip"?
*
yeah OS-CON very good for DAC farnell got alot heheh but oscon dont have high value i think just until 470uf

Local Farnell-Newark is a good place to buy stuffs from.

Get a student discount and you'll understand what i mean by that lol.

Best if possible avoid US purchase ATM, I don't know about you guys, but it's killing me because of it's exchange rate. There are better places to buy stuffs from. Farnell-Newark is good for PSU caps, look at the price of the Panasonic FMs, with free shipping you're good to go.
*
yeah .. now new Panasonic FM i see the spec is not bad the ESR is lower and size are smaller even price is cheaper than FC ??? but dunno about quality but i prefer Panasonic FC

QUOTE(ccschua @ Oct 27 2008, 06:32 PM)
what a dilemma! it is either the voltage not have or the capacitance not have.  Can I use 16V for 25V ?

Also the Nover capacitance as given above, how is the sound quality ? Anyone with experience on Nover.

should I choose FM Series. Anyone else interested to mod.

I am now split between Panasonic and ELNA SILMIC II. wat is your opinion.
-----

another question appear.

ultra fast diodes. any advantage compared to fast recovery ? price is easily double.

rgds.
*
for better voltage ... its already say Ultra Fast just check the model of the diode example UF4001 - the front written UF means Ultra Fast

ok for me Panasonic i normally put on the PSU section due the value is high and Elna Silmic hard to get on big value n the price ..... tongue.gif Elna Silmic or Silmic II i put on analog section like opamp coupling and clock , DAC try to couple with OS-CON ,

For diodes, i say, just bypass them ceramic capacitors to reduce diode noise and ringing. Better than spending on expensive shit like MUR820s.

Best would be to get 820s WITH sweet ceramics tongue.gif
*
yeah i saw some ppl bypass with ceramic cap.

Hi empy,

I have a problem buying panasonic cap from Farnell, they are stupid to sell something at multiple of 5 (meaning cant buy 6, must be 5, 10, 15).
Can I know the stock main cap 25V2200uF KLE cap is taking in what voltage ? is it taking in at 17V or 15V ? Can I use 16V3300 cap ?

is no problem ... even my CD63 original just using 470uf 35v Elna Silmic i replace with Panasonic FC 3300uf 35v the bass are more deep and got more energy i found some on the website some mat salleh put 4700uf 35v tongue.gif the voltage better use the higher like empire say those voltage are normally unstable will load very high ... like my fren saw before he got using Voltage Regulator for his main plug to his equipment he saw his meter some time is go up to 260v AC and normal we only 220v-230v even sometime is low
