QUOTE(ccschua @ Jun 12 2008, 03:12 PM) My samples LT 1358 is in Malaysia. LT local agent called me that he will deliver by post to me. Then it is PK time for LT 1358, DY2000 and LM4562. Wow, that was fast! I waited over 3 months just to get it |

QUOTE(ccschua @ Jun 13 2008, 07:26 AM) It was widely discussed Bursons HDAM is not made by him, but rebadged from Chinese products. Chinese products is not bad nowadays. Loot at the Zero, Zhaolu, Yulong, Bada, Xindak, etc. How's the PK result so far? I'm more interested in how LT1028 performing ------------------ Yes just got the following LT 1358 LT 1028 x 2 LT 1057 LT 1361 LT 1469 . PK between LM 4562, LT 1028 and LT 1358. |

QUOTE(ccschua @ Jun 18 2008, 09:39 PM) compare burson with Lawrence, it is about 50% more expensive. Looks like for the 30% gain SQ is close to getting a better DAC. OPA2107 should be able to used in the DAC section since it's unity gain stable. OPA627 with browndog cost us around RM100 while Lawrence's HDAM replica is around RM180, if we could do a bulk and able to lower it till around RM130 - RM150, that it might quite worth it, but again your DAC gotta be rooftop-less to contain the HDAM Do you think the OPA 2107 can be used in the DAC section? |

QUOTE(abel @ Jun 25 2008, 09:23 AM) ccschua get the dy2000 from internet i also ask him to get one for me also but no time to meet him yet Perhaps it may need some kind of burn in, lotsa headfier reporting improvement after 100 hours of burn in for soo many day i tested on Zero with different opamp currently i try on opa2107 .... wut i found the sound slightly dry n digital (fake) will all op when running using toslink .... than yesterday just bought MIT coaxial ... but not fully run it yet still dunno wut the result yet i compare back last 2 week when i listen to CD-63 KI the vocal are thick more sweet sounding .... when the CD-63 connect to DAC is totally different seem the sound more dynamic n more resolution vocal is slightly thin ... the different is CD-63 KI is running on 16bit and Zero is 24bit actually depends on ur taste ... if u like those new age or fast music Zero is more suitable ... Now just wait to running in n test on final result that day i try on Headphone the sound are dull dunno y maybe i use cheap headphone |

Actually I wanna hear a comment from user who got both OPA627 and OPA2107, ppl mentioned OPA2107 sounds very close to the OPA627, just tad less clarity at highs and less dynamic.
Just now I chat with my friend, he could help me get OPA2107 at RM30 each, IMHO it's quite bang for the bucks, anyone wanna try |

Does anyone here tried OPA2134 and OPA2227 with ZERO? OPA2134 is around RM8 while OPA2227 is around RM13 from Farnell malaysia, RM20 ish combined is worth a try plus a purchase of RM20 at Farnell Malaysia charges nothing for your shipping.
I got this OPA2134, from what I heard it's fuller and deeper sounding than LT1364 |

QUOTE(ccschua @ Jul 6 2008, 06:24 PM) Good that DY2000 bulk is going on. Now I really feel steady with ZERO, dunno for how long. But I still know ZERO has Potential to go further than that. I feel the output stage has some improvment to be done. Maybe something related to discrete Yesterday I was wondering why the DAC gain stage is so low, until I realise I forgot to plug in the DY2000 (it was taken out for audition) I think you wont go wrong with DY2000 if you are those who like vocals. |

QUOTE(scy320 @ Jul 6 2008, 09:54 PM) I think DY2000 suit vocal well, at least ccschua and abel seems to stick with them since they mainly listening to vocal. I bet instrument gotta be a lil bit weak with the DY2000, since pure instrumental blizz is talking about fine details, good separation, airy, wide soundstage here, maybe the LM4562 suits better?Talking about power cord, some seasoned audiophile mentioned before silver is best to used in power cord since silver is better and purer conductor than copper, thus the received end will get purer supply of power, again it's garbage in garbage out theory here, I never tried before but I tend to quite agree with their comments, silver for power cord while copper for interconnect for sound tuning This post has been edited by GodLuvSxS: Jul 6 2008, 10:28 PM |

QUOTE(ccschua @ Jul 7 2008, 09:03 PM) IF you use DY2000, u will sacrifice a bit of dynamics. On fast transients, the music tends to slow slightly. If your ears are really fuzzy, u will notice a bit. overall, this is give and take. After 2 days, there's still no reply from Lawrence Eddie Wu from diykits is very nice guy, very knowledgeable guy, been in HIFI business for a long long time. I hope he has a metal DY2000. The DY2000 metal is damn expensive. I dont seem to see any review on the 1364 and 1469 in the head phone. guys come spill it. |

Both DAC and headamp opamp is just like part of the module, some said it's there to tune the sound, so you could change them to tune the sound you wanted.
Preamp mode is not for amping headphone, preamp is like a booster to power amp. Detailed and technical explanation please google it. For headphone playing, just switch to headphone mode will do. Switching around mode will not blow up your headphone but it's advice to it with the volume turned to zero |

QUOTE(DEz012 @ Jul 15 2008, 05:54 PM) Hi there, I submitted order on 26th Jun, suppose to reach by around 24th to 28th July, but due to the recent political havoc, the Kastam side might delay us a lil bit of time, and usually collection session will be on weekend so that everybody including working class could attend without any problem. That's why 2nd August (Saturday) is the best estimate time, plus I will only be at KL from around 29th July to 4th August ... if the DAC arrives and you cant wait till the 2nd August, you may meet me at Ampang Park LRT or Bank of China for earlier collection, will sms you guys once dac arrived. So you guys may choose to collect face to face or attend the collection gathering, IMHO the gathering is going to be great since some "seasoned" ZERO dac owner may attend with some opinion and opamp rolling suggestion. Heck I might even bring along some APE to do some sharing This post has been edited by GodLuvSxS: Jul 15 2008, 06:18 PM |
