it's the projectorcentral.com screen size calculator. Can get a gigantic 132" screen size

Hi guys....cash 5.9K sounds ok...I will confirm this within 2 weeks ...still need to check the cash flow..!
wud there be any problems w the panny in terms of PQ and other issues..reading timotthy and jasonlky threads they seem to be not so keen after testing them but then again my eyes are lowya a bit and may not see those things that u guys can detect. I also realise after doing a bit of reading on pj review and pj central it may be the only pj bright enough and suitable for the long throw that i need at the price thats reasonably within my budget Tq much |

The issues that bro Tim and I had was with the older AX100. I believe that the AX200 has most of the problems sorted. I have found AVS Forum to be a good source of complaints. If there is anything wrong with the projector, those guys there will beat it to death!!Jason |

QUOTE(Wakabi @ Apr 10 2008, 05:04 PM) Hi htkaki Hi,I'm very new to this home theater scne and have been followin the threads on HT I'm now very interested trying to do a small set up and in buying this HD65..looks like a great little budget projector.Only problem is my throw distance is fixed at 18'..with that distance wt is the minimum size screen. from the distance calculator i wud hv a huge screen size ..i'm thinking maybe a max of 120' diagonal..any way around this?..TQ for any help Wow 18ft is a distance woh.. should not be a problem wat pj u buy.. but I think u ll need a light controlled room.. my tw700 at 17ft away needs to be jacked up to brightest settin when watchin in daytime wif normal (not blackout) curtains n tinted windows, but since installin blackouts I can use de lo lite settin again.. Uhm epson is a lot cheaper then ur listed 8+k la.. there are a few reasons why all 3(tim, jason n me) chose de epson over panny la but u go check out de posts on panny(avs) first plus demo(if u can) before u decide for urself.. one thin I find epson better than panny is de warranty - 2yrs against pannys 1.. Cheers Dirtrun This post has been edited by dirtrun: Apr 11 2008, 10:26 AM |

QUOTE(dirtrun @ Apr 11 2008, 10:25 AM) Hi, And 1 more thing, even though the Epson TW700 has 1600lumens on paper, in real terms it is as bright as the AX100's 2000lumens. But in reality very few of us use the brightest settingcoz the kaler sucks.Wow 18ft is a distance woh.. should not be a problem wat pj u buy.. but I think u ll need a light controlled room.. my tw700 at 17ft away needs to be jacked up to brightest settin when watchin in daytime wif normal (not blackout) curtains n tinted windows, but since installin blackouts I can use de lo lite settin again.. Cheers Dirtrun Agree on the point that u must audition, coz you may or may not like the smoothscreen tech used in the AX200. I read that the smoothscreen in AX200 has beeb enhanced, it is software controlled to give optimum sharpness... coz many people complained that the AX100 was blur... me included. Jason |

Hi jason,
I did go to the AVS forum but sometime it all get VERY confusing to make a decision..!!!...I'd rather have 3 or 4 or 5 well versed ppl who are into the HT experience making their decisions and just go w the flow..! definitely ur combine experiences makes a difference to me..I may not see defects in kaler or PQ as you guys can ( my gf says i'm kalerblind sometimes ! ) |

I have own the AX100 before for 3 months before it was stolen. I now own the AX200 and I must say its an excellent projector. I paid about RM 5.3k for it but this was because the shop took pity on me for my stolen AX100. I'm using PS3 to watch blu-ray now and I must say the PQ is jaw dropping. You don't need a 1080p projector because I doubt you can tell the difference with AX200.

That's pretty good distance. My PJ is in my living hall now as I live in a condo and I only have 13' between me and the screen. I'm using a 92" Draper Onyx fix grey screen. It works really well with the projector. I'm planning out my new HT room when I move to my new house next year, but that's still a long way to go.
720p is actually very good already and more affordable. I watched Planet Earth the other day and the details blew me away! If you are interested, you can always drop by my place to test it out. Cheers! |

TW700... considered old model liow... more than year since its release. It has 1 HDMI connector.
BTW we should take all this projector tal to the projector thread... we ar taking up space in bro HTkaki's thread!! Jason |
