Finally, I take the plunge into converting one of my rooms into HT room as Home Minister gave me the green light rclxm9.gif

It's been a near 'potong stim' scenario today. The shipping guy 4got abt my shipment. Luckily, I made a call to them. The pj and screen reached in the evening. sweat.gif

I checked the packaging of the screen. Upon checking, it stated MW White. Hmm.... that fella told me out of stock. Only left woth HC Grey screen. Hopefully, it is matt white screen. Btw, it is Draper 92" 16:9 HDTV format screen.

I took some photos of it. But, due to some uploading prob with imageshack, cant upload all the photos doh.gif

However, I havent decided which DVDP to go for. So, I brought home Pioneer DV-400 and Sony old's NS-76 for a shootout. I ll be using old faithful GIEC HVD player too, which is able to upscale to 1080p via component. whistling.gif

Tomorrow will be a rather busy day for me as I ll try to set it up. Got to shift most of the AV gears from living room to upstair. Luckily, my brother will be here to help me out rclxms.gif

I thought it would be an easy task to do all the shifting in one go. Oh boy, I am wrong. So darn wrong. Now, freaking tired. Got to rest first.

Here are some of the photos taken during the 'mass evacuation'

Bro, this is initial stage only. I have all the curtains (out goes the blind) and carpets to do the job. Some ambient light will still do as this projector churns out 1,400 ansi lumens. Tested it in the afternoon. Still able to see clearly. We'll see how it goes.

Next step is to install a customised bracket to secure the Draper as well as the curtain.

The DVD racks, the cabinets, the coffee table and leather sofa is in the room. These stuffs will also play role as 'acoustic treatment'.

Will calibrate the sound by using Radioshack SPL meter.

I havent got the time to align the screen correctly. Now, it's a bit tilted. Hence, the picture aint look good. Suspected the bracket isnt level or the curtain behind the screen is the culprit. Yet to find out.

I only did a minor calibration on the HD65, let alone the whole sound system. Hopefully, I have the time to do so this weekend. I hate tweaking as it consumes a lot of time. doh.gif

Yes, it is quite ugly looking. However, it does have blue backlight, which will be convenient and easy to see in darkened room.

Just managed to have some time to do some sound calibration and tweaking. Have to get back the radioshack for accurate calibration. I have decided that I will keep DV400. Sony NS76 will have to make its way back to shop.

Tomorrow, have to tidy up the messy cabling. I am short of carpets or rugs. Need to do shopping at Ikea for the cheap rugs.

Anyway, here's are the screenshots that I took yesterday:

dun have HD ar?
*

Belum. Peasant grade only. Aint Elite class yet. blush.gif

This HD65 is quite impressive as it is quite bright (1,600ansi lumens) and works well with almost all type of rez including the holy grail; 1080p 24fps apart from the norm 1080p 60Hz.

The pj is resting on coffee table, 11ft from the screen. Comfy sofa is another 2.5 feet back. Fan noise is tolerable. There is mild rainbow effect from this tiny pj. But it aint annoying enough to bother me.

Now, trying to save enough to buy a PS3. Need to go on diet and ride motorcycle to work to save cost.

who is the pretender? hmm.gif ikan bilis cannot be ikan paus blush.gif

Bro, you can set a room for HT easily if you want it.

Still got thing to do as the curtain is affecting the screen making the picture looks a bit tilted. Need the screen to be flat and not being touched by the curtain. Time to Ikea again.

smile.gif Yes, finally. All all these years, HM gave the green light.

The RPTV is still there for HM to watch her programmes. 4 yrs plus, still going strong. But, HM said if it 'kong', she would be grateful if I replace it with a 46" - 50" sweat.gif Pray hard that it last for another 4 years

My room couldn't fit 106" as the speakers will block part of the screen since the room is not wide enough. Care to share photo of your setup of VPL-AW15?
