Received the NWZ-S718F in black.... damn, its so small, find it hard to hold it. Hahaha!! Very easy and intuitive to use - well, coming from a person with only experience in using SonicStage all this while
The NC function really is good - suddenly, my whole office has become so quiet.... only thing lacking is bass, even with the settings to max bass... maybe I've been spoilt all this while with my Sennheiser headphones. But cant complain with the sony earbuds... probably the most comfy pair I've put on in a while... I never liked earbuds (hence, the venture into Sennheiser phones), but I think I can live with this NC earbuds. fx2800 is a superb seller - very good communication; and the goods arrived on time as promised. |

Confirm Drag n Drop... but actually, now that I'm slowly moving from SonicStage to the 'easier' drag n drop, I realised that if I dont manage my new MP3 files using Sonicstage, the cover art doesnt show.
So, what I do is still import the new MP3 albums into Sonicstage, assign the cover art to it there - then when I drag the files into the NWZ, the cover art shows. So err....anyone can suggest an easier way to embed cover art into the MP3 file tags? fx2800, sorry for hijacking your thread |

Analyze a buyer situation and try to understand him/her before you do something stupid like what you do on other thread! S610 is older model. S630 is the newest series, not even available on Sony Style yet.
S630 has better battery life, bigger screen, slimmer aluminum body and lower noise floor. |

i just receive d MP3 !! nice n superb sound quality!! haha i wish i ask isit the headphone is tat long or its extended? but something i don like is , POS LAJU i wait at home from morning 7 am,than around 11am i fall asleep, until 2 pm i wake up, i go out n saw a SORRY NOTE!! OMG!! they ask me go n collect the parcel by myself, i felt mad , and call them when can i collect and at where, call until 12 minute only got ppl angkat my phone ... they ask me after 5pm go there bcoz the pos man will be back on tat time so i take a CAB ,....from my hse go there is around RM13, than i reach there, i ask about my parcel, they ask me to wait, than i heard they say where the pos man? i heard some of them say " minum teh kut" i feel....like ...F***k them, coz they din really try to shout my name or call me, if they call me i won be so mad coz is my fault not to wake, but the parcel did write down my phone number... than finally i get wat i wan already, we i go out from POS LAJU office, RAIN!!!!! Successfully CODed a black S739 last night.
Sony products never fails to impress me, especially in the quality factor. Sony Malaysia even retain their local employees from retrenchment as stated in todays news. Overall, very satisfied! Though, wanna nitpick on some things. Hehe... Most of my album names are long, Sony should scroll the album names in the now playing screen for a better user experience.  Another minor thing is that some of my album songs are linked. My old S705 tend to play between songs fluently. However, the S739 have a short lag during the transition. Aww... Regarding the trade, very friendly seller here! Highly recommended. Though, try to mention beforehand regarding the additional prices in colour and earphone choices, okay? That will make the trading experience more perfect... |

MDR-NC022 is the retail model. MDR-NC020 come with the S-series player. Spec and sound quality should be the same. Only need to check the jack got same type of tips or not.

Wanna add some further info. The Sony S700 series used to come with NC022 and the new series had changed to the NC020. Basically, they are the same, jack connector and so on.
The difference is that the NC022 has a silver earphone enclosure while black for the NC020. Also, the NC022 seems to have a better quality wire jacket made of rubber, whereas the NC020's feels abit like cheap plastic. That mean I got both, cause my old one got silver aluminium mic eclosure and can tune for better sound at the middle of cable, where cable split to left and right. Cable also shorter and better than a new one. I thought NC020 as mention in the brochure cause I also saw NC022 sold as a set at Sony The Curve last 2 weeks.
NC022 bass more punchy than NC020. Mid and treble are same. |

i just bought my S738, item received nicely
this thing is just...omg..wonder of the world., it is slim and light. i hv to say the player has got an excellent sound quality. The stock earphone which came along is consider good in sound quality, after burn in will sound better, but i am sure u never get a better stock earphone than this from other's brand mp4. the noise cancelling function is something interesting that u can play about. video playing is "smooth and silky"...lol i like the Sensme function also, got a lot of sound setting, equalizer, vtp, ...etc still finding a most suitable one for me...it's alot to say about,, just wondering where can i get a protective case for this S738, p/s the pattern looks like a smaller SE W580i, the menu interface got some similarlity with SE phone also. |

Silicon or leather case can get from any Sony Centre. I bought at The Curve but last weekend Sony The Curve under renovation. Silicon case come with screen protector.

For phone if you buy <RM20, use 1 months, the silicon feel greasy already. I use branded one for phone before, really got different than cheap one.
This is different material.... branded one won't 'koyak' easily. And this one quite thick, so really protect the walkman. Any way, I cannot find any 3rd party brand for Sony Walkman case so far. Good luck hunting. |

how long (approx how many hours) is your S739 able to last? i have one unit but it seems the battery self discharge gradually. it will drop a bar if left alone, approx 3-4days for each bar. is this normal? |

This Sony made wallplug usb charger, is there a difference compared to other makes? I have a HP usb wall charger which is rated at 5V 1amp max output and it charges my Sony 738 fine. Sonys' is rated 5V 800mA output which makes it a slower charger

Thanks nordingh and fx2800. Yes HP i meant by Hewlett Packard. Its the USB wallcharger that came with my HP handphone.
Beats me, but just for food for thought, arent all PCs' or laptops' USB port are standardly rated to output the correct power to charge external devises? Therefore USB wallplug chargers are actually mimicking what the PC's are doing as far as charging devices is concerned. I may be wrong about this so any school of thoughts on this subject to clear up our misunderstanding could help us decide if we should get these original USB charges for good. |

Bro, the QC and quality made is different between factory.
For PC/laptop USB and branded USB wall plug sure will have similar voltage (5V), just different in power output (PC only have 100mA for each port, that why really slow to charge) and for sure the QC is really good. Cheap USB charger (RM10) will not have a good QC quality. Some will have to much voltage leak. You can test using multimeter and testpen. That what I do when bought a cheap charger. I got 2 USB wallplug from same brand. One is working fine. The another I stop using it after few months, I feel there is some shocking current when touch the usb port metal. When test using the test pen, I got a light... (the test pen only can detect 100V - 250V ) |

Thanks bro nordingh for highlighting some important points here. So rule of thumb here is to go for quality and by paying for peanuts means in return you'll get ROASTED peanuts too....hmm not too bad, at least it still tastes yummy.. haha!
On another note nordingh, i presume since we are on the Sony topic, you do own a Sony DAP ie one of these S6xx or S7xx? I'm asking bcos my original IEM earphones (model NC020) cable sleeve has hardened and the plastic sleeve breaks when folded. This happens 4 inches along the wire from the earphones, both sides. I've only had it for 1 mth and this is happening. Gosh, and speaking about getting Branded and Quality products, i am very saddened by this and worst of all of this coming from SONY itself! Yes, I have S739F and E438F, few Sony earphone and headphone including 2 that come with S739. I think I have about 6-7 from Sony (lost count already).
So far all my Sony earphone and headphone are OK, not harden even use for more than 5 - 6 years. I guess yours one already expose to some moisture than can't handle by the plastic. Same thing happen to my Sony Ericsson original USB cable. |

Use BCR-NWU3 or BCR-NWU5 which got audio out port. But need to have attachments (adapter that hold the player), which is come with retails package only.

You need to have the attachments to use with the cradle and that not sold separately.
If I were you, I will call few Sony centre to check the stock. I can ask for you at SonyStyle KLCC on Thursday or Friday cos I going there to collect my camera sent for repair. |

Nordingh, i will need your help on this. I have just called Sony Style about the NWU3 and according to them its out of stock. If you dont mind, on your run to SonyStyle KLCC, could you please see if they have it there. It seems this item is pretty hard to come by! Your effort is much appreciated.

Wah, so quick! You must certainly live nearby to KLCC. Ah, probably driving a Hummer to KLCC so every body have to give way. Oh, the Americans took everything not quite, they had to regurgitate the Hummer to China.

Hi bro. My sony arrived safe and sound. Nice wrapping, just that the poslaju people missed the delivery due to King's bday and 5.30pm (time to habis kerja). Anyways, now I am checking every single thing in the player to ensure it's in good condition to use. Btw, thanks alot for that lucky offer too.

Just received the NWZ-S736F player.
Seller is providing fast service. Bought the player for my younger brother's birthday, and seller is able to get the player for me in time before my bro's birthday even though I kinda booked the player at last minute. Thanks again. Will definitely recommend you to my friends. |

Bro fx2800, I finally uncoiled the supplied earplugs to try out the N/C system on my new S739. Was previously using my older set of NC phones from my S618 as well as my Sennheiser PX100s.
Unfortunately, along the cable, there are small holes in the (rubber) wrap. Seems to be of poor quality compared to the other set of NC buds. Can you please send out a new set to me? I can return this current set to u. Added on June 19, 2009, 11:46 amAside... for those of you who, like me meticulously tag all MP3 files and then find it frustrating that the YEAR doesnt display when playing your music files on the Walkman, I've found a quick fix. You need to update the driver from MTP to UMS. This can be done in Device Manager of Windows. Once done, the Walkman doesn't rely on WMP anymore and all tags will now display correctly; including the YEAR! Of course, this is only if you're more a drag n drop person like me. May i ask...how long can s739 play continuously? i think after playing the player for music listening continuously for 10 hours, it only left with 1 bar...is this normal?

trickle charge A charge at a low rate, balancing through self-discharge losses, to maintain a cell or battery in a fully charged condition. |

Hi, i wonder why sometimes my this mp3 will hang? like i try to play that particular song then suddenly hang. Have to off it then on again, but this continues to happen.
I guess software problem? By the way the radio is functional in KL! i guess the radio signal in sarawak is bad tho. Sorry for your inconvenience that time. You need to recode your mp3 files that have problem. Use a good software like iTunes. Some files may be have a bad data in it. When play in PC, the player will skip that part, or maybe you will hear a noise but in walkman that data is ignore and player will hang. I also have that kind of mp3 before.

I've read about hangin or freezing player with the old firmware. My S738 is updated with the latest firmware v 1.11. I have not encountered any freezing as u mentioned.
Then again i've never got to try the old firmware cos i updated the minute my unit came. Added on June 20, 2009, 5:49 pmOn another note, i want to give nordingh a big thanks here who very kindly informed me that Sony has released a circular. Sony have acknowledged that the cord of the supplied earphones that came with the S7xx series DMP and some Vaio models may harden or break depending on the usage. Try using different sizes for each ear canal. I have found that my left ear needed the larger tips and the right medium tips, haha.

yep, turn the mp3 on through out the nite and thru my working hours, come back home, battery emptied, re-charge while toying with uploading / downloading mp3 songs & surfing the net , repeat the same process.....
