depends. if not using for a long time, better take out the battery. it drains little by little. u wont notice it unless its for a long time. say, 3weeks or so. or more.

yes u can update the firmware. but it depends on the motherboard.
up until now, there is just one motherboard that cant be pandora. the
TA-88V3. you can track my post to read a full description on it.

theres no other way except to go there and round the store yourself. not only you get to find the cheapest store or something, but you can even bargain some more about the price and the packages.

yes, u can buy there, and install a custom firmware. after ur running on a custom firmware, you can change the region using Fake Region option.
