next time bring loads of rabbit pellets okie....get one big gunny sack coz the rabbits look emaciated...
carrots and rabbits is a myth. Carrots is considered very starchy food for the rabbits. So, the general Bugs Bunny loves carrot view is not that accurate. |

QUOTE(kembara @ Feb 1 2008, 12:21 AM) rabbit may also move their kits to other place, if the enemies detected the nest. Kembara, I cannot agree with this statement. The rabbit is not like cat or dog where they can "carry" their young around. They normally just give birth at one place. If they deliver the kits at the wrong place, u need to help put them in a better place. They do not move their kits because they just cannot do that. |

oh ic. I think his situation is more of a mixture/combination of a few problems. Basically his antibody already very weak so it was easier to be attacked by uncommon bacteria. I dun rule out that he has got secondary infection as well. Maybe the pus removal wasn't done in a sterile environment and the bacteria got back into his blood stream.
That is what I believe. |

wow nice plan dude...Why not natural grass? Pls cover the fish pond too. It would be good so that you do not expose ur rabbits to possibilities of drowning....
And to be realistic, your backyard will not be as nice when they start to dig. And there will be a possibility that they will dig next to your nice fish pond too. Make sure your fish pond is made of thick walls if not, they might just dig right through your pond. This post has been edited by sangterap: Feb 3 2008, 12:28 AM |

QUOTE(White Palace @ Feb 20 2008, 01:33 PM) Mind to share, what are the benefits of spaying rabbits? I used to spay rabbits but non spayed. Is the benefits similar to dogs or? The main advantage of spaying is to alter the aggressive behaviour so that the rabbit is able to live with another. No 100% guarantee in that. Also, with males, neutering will stop SPRAYING problems. If you are sick and tired of being sprayed or you always have golden shower from your buck, get it neutered. |

QUOTE(nicoty_yne @ Feb 20 2008, 05:41 PM) Certain vets are rabbit savvy and they are good at spaying rabbits. There are a few forumers here who have ample of experience with spayed/neutered rabbits. They can give sound advice. General spay/neuter is a safe procedure but there are of course some risk that will be involved. Just like human undergoing a surgery under GA.Some of the benefits of spaying/neuter also include less marking with poo, less aggressive & able to bond with another rabbit. More benefits compared to dogs. |

QUOTE(bebee @ Feb 21 2008, 02:33 PM) I wonder who have more BULU...QUOTE(bebee @ Feb 22 2008, 05:58 PM) Lionhead is a fairly new breed. IT is still being develop as we speak. So, if you are able to produce rabbits with manes you can slowly develop to achieve the desired standard. If you have that intention, it is a good start. Breeding with an objective to achieve a targeted standard is good breeding practice compared to breeding just out of curiosity. You must know what genes your breeding stocks have in order for you to produce the right thing. But it is a good start there producing those manes....This post has been edited by sangterap: Feb 22 2008, 10:22 PM |

QUOTE(bebee @ Feb 23 2008, 10:35 AM) Set your mind to whether you want to achieve ARBA standards or UK standard. Once you set your mind with whichever standards, get down the measurements/evaluations to see if your rabbits adhere to those standards. Each breed must have certain characteristics that it must possess for example, the thickness of the fur, built of the body whether broad or narrow, meaty or lean, how wide must the eyes be apart and etc. It can be really technical. So having those standards on hand you can then look into your rabbits' genes and then try to produce those specimen in accordance to those standards laid down by those organization. If we have many people doing stuff like that, we can slowly establish a club which can affiliate with those clubs in UK or US so that we could get certifications as well.QUOTE(vincent_ng86 @ Feb 23 2008, 12:37 PM) To my best knowledge, the procedure cost between RM200 and RM250. Good luck!QUOTE(inexsis @ Feb 23 2008, 07:57 PM) i need help from all the pros.....i still cant determine my 7weeks old kit..... MAYBE THEY ARE ALL THE SAME GENDER....bwahahahahaha....they all look the same down there kinda hairy tooooo please give me any advice to help me....thanks~~~ I am no pro but you can try this: 1) hold the kit on its back and tail facing your body (right hand) 2) use thumb and middle to pull the tail outwards and at the same time, 3) use your index finger to pull the top of the genital skin the opposite direction (towards the head of the kit) 4) if proper pressure applied, you are able to see a little CONE (male) or a little SLIT (female) |

sounds good. I think it is more suitable for breeding coz the fiber still low for maintenance. But sounds good. extruded better for the stomach. Do let us know more details once u start feeding your rabbits. How much per pack?
