Actually I have been thinking about how the shop keeper told you about RM2 sekilo rabbit pellets. After the entire day thinking about it, I realized that I actually need to tell everyone this.

Yes, many cheap rabbit pellets out there. And most petshops only emphasize on profit. But just let me tell u guys what I think okie...

When I keep my first rabbit, the main problem that I encounter was the smell. Many people give up their rabbits when they get too stinko. After using Oxbow, I realized that my rabbit do not smell that bad. Of course urine have smell but somehow, the smell is not that strong.

That being said, most pet shop people do not know this and their RM2 sekilo rabbit pellets is those that causes really bad smell. And when people start to give up their rabbits because of the smell, I do not think their RM2 sekilo will be as LAKU.

Likewise if the RM2 sekilo rabbit pellets causes health problems, soon no rabbits will need those pellets because they will all be DEAD!

So, if you encounter snobbish shop keepers like what Nico had mentioned, just tell them to PANDANG JAUH sikit....with good pellets we will have healthy and smell good rabbits. With that, people will come back for more!

So now, RM2 sekilo better or longer business better?

i understand yr stress and worry, i go thro' all this process also when my anggora bunny having the same problem, need to clean and flush out the cheesy pus daily, go to the vet once a week continuously for more than a month.........  when she fully recover and gaining some weight.......she was killed........ so, i will pray for Daddy also........hope he recover soon..........

Why u simply let your dogs roam outside the house? If that is the case then I think you should never let ur dog go out anymore.

Hi Hi ppl, I've brought my Piggy out to a playground nearby. His first encounter with grass field. All the while he stays in my house with tiles, haha.. he didn't know how to walk/hop on the grass!! Blur case stand there for a long time before he dare to move around..



Look at how blur was he, haha...

When I let him play on the grass actually I was a bit worried he might just run off.. hard to catch him back.. But instead he run about then turn back to me and sit next to my leg.. Even jump on my lap and sort of ask me to carry him. haha, that's the fun thing of having a pet.. Piggy is a good rabbit.

 

Haven't managed to find any in KL/S'gor. i heard that Makro used to carry them.. for now, the only place i know off where you can find NIC is in the Daiso outlets in Singapore. SGD2 per panel

There must be a misunderstanding somewhere. We 'good quality food advocates' have never ever said that alfalfa hay could save a rabbit's life. Although it would make our lives a lot easier if we could just chuck a bunch of alfalfa hay at sick rabbits and expect them to magically spring back to life in the very next instant.

The problem, as most of us here are aware, is that the majority of people do not bother to do some research on an animal before buying it. they can come to the forum and post, but they are somehow incapable of going to google.com to learn a little bit more. and so, they go out and purchase tiny little rabbits, cos they are just so freaking cute! nevermind the fact that they are too young to be sold, they have been deprived of the mother's milk and without the essential nutrients from their mother's milk, their digestive system is under-developed. With the stress of leaving their family, moving to a new environment, adapting to different types of food... its no surprise that the digestive system gets compromised resulting in fatal diarrhea.

What we 'good quality food advocates' are trying to achieve here is to encourage owners to provide their rabbits with a diet as close to their natural diet as possible, so that its easier on their digestive system and hopefully their baby bunnies will survive til adulthood. (BTW, hay is dried grass. the varieties may differ, but its still 'grass'. so although your rabbits may not have tasted hay in their entire life, they did in fact enjoy the benefits of high-fibre food in its most natural form).

As for good quality food... well end of the day it boils down to the quality of life which an owner wants to give its rabbit. since it seems such a hard concept to grasp, lets try to see it this way: would you feed your child fast food throughout his entire life? sure he wont die, but is it healthy? and if you could afford it, wouldn't you want to give him a better diet?

and i don't think it really costs that much to give good quality food. I use Oxbow pellets (not saying that Oxbow is THE brand, but in Msia, it has the best nutritional content so far), 4 types of hay, tons of vegetables... which comes up to RM180/mth for 2 rabbits. big amount?? not really.. divide that by 30 days and i only get RM3/day/rabbit ... is that too much to ask for? if it is then seriously, i think some people should reconsider keeping rabbits, because if the rabbit gets sick, the vet bill is gonna cost way more!

and for the record, i do not and have never considered it a burden to give good food to my rabbits

were they for sale, or was Carrefour using it for their own display purposes? i've seen carrefour at midvalley using it to display school uniform, but they didn't have any for sale

i've read before that generally most grass are safe, but you'd better do more research on that  if you have a garden, you can also plant herbs for your rabbits or you can grow wheatgrass in small pots.

NIC is marketed as multipurpose storage panels. Its only the pet lovers who creatively turned it into a cage. If Carrefour PG sells it, then Carrefour KL should have it too .. hopefully..

yeah i know only on weekends, but past 2 saturdays i pop by didn't see his stall there.

wahlau so far =/ i think i'll stick to visiting his stall at amcorp mall lol.
