Is the 4 sen dividend after or before tax? How do I redraw the dividend money from my CDS account after the dividends are deposited into it?
*
They will send the cheque as your CDS account.

For nominee account, they will bank into yoru trust account.

Guys, I do not see any topic for "Trading houses offering withdrawal from EPF for investing in Stock Market"

Last I heard Philip Capital does it.. anyone done it through them? What are their charges right now? Still RM40 per trx?

It is for UT not directly into stock market, if not mistaken.

Nope.. the withdrawal is from A/C 1.. same amount you can withdraw for UT but it is kept in a special account whereby all gains and loss from disposal as well as dividends if ever accrued will go back to your EPF.

I opened one last year but due to the fact that I was misrepresented on the brokerage charges, I closed the account. Maybe its a good avenue for those with fat A/C 1 to take out 20k or so and buy up beaten down blue chip counter..

I always thought it was a bad idea to take money from "life savings" to "speculate" on the market. Even UT investments are bad as seen in Singapore when a lot of people use their CPF to buy investment products and are now suffering a huge loss. And these losses aren't extra money but their life savings. Although the opportunity is there to make some money and grow your life savings, the risks should be fully understood.

Got a totally noob question, when you sell your shares do you pay the same brokerage fees as when you bought them? Do you need to pay the stamping and clearing fees as well?

sorry for a pretty silly question tongue.gif
i just realised that for my Public Bank Nominee account, the divident i received is less than what is stated on the Original Slip they sent me (the one used for Income Tax??)

for example,
On 24/10/2008 Public Bank (Nominees) received dividend of Interim 3 cents minus 26% tax.. since i have 600 units, then from the Original Slip i received,

Gross Dividend - 18.00
Less Tax - 4.68
Net Divident - 13.32

but in my Current Account statement that Public Bank sent me, only RM 10.40 is deposited. any idea?

also, since i need to do tax filing soon... i need to declare the dividend income.. so which do i declare? RM 18 or RM 10.40?

Thanks smile.gif

either 0.15% or RM 12 (or any min amount set as different broker different min rate now), which is the highest.

Aka if your 0.15% is actually below Rm12, then they will charge you Rm12.
If your 0.15% is Rm20, then they charge you Rm20.

Good Day All,

Beginner question here. I bought 7 lot of TMI(Axiata) last three week for 2.73 via maybank online trade, and was not login/observe the price movement until yesterday. When i login yesterday, the price has been reduce to 1.79 due to divident/entitlement what so ever, which i do not understand.

What happen to my stock? Am i in the loss now? How the divident/entitlement affect my stock?

Thank You.

Just asking, what is the meaning of "target price" ? The price during time to buy or time to sell ?

Haha... sometime things mean to be confusing...
If brokerage initiate a buy call with a tp of $5, it means fair value is at $5 and the current market price is under value. So they advice customer to buy at current price (e.g. $3), when the price reach $5 and no fresh information that appear, then customer should consider to sell because that's fully valued (customer can choose to keep also, they have to make the decision). and vice versa to sell call. I also don't know am I interpret it correctly or not... haha...

Sometimes, when brokers issue calls to buy, i just wait for 6 months or so, to buy at cheaper prices.

I find it safer that way.

Just my own DIY method.
