QUOTE(gark @ Jan 15 2014, 05:58 PM) Let's say yesterday i wanted to buy shares of A at a price of RM2 and i put my GTD date until next week.Unfortunately, the shares closed at RM2.20 yesterday. Let's say at pre-market today people wanna sell the shares at RM2, will i be ahead of the queue of those who keyed in at 8:30am today? Thanks! |

QUOTE(Mr Kong @ Jan 16 2014, 11:14 AM) Let's say yesterday i wanted to buy shares of A at a price of RM2 and i put my GTD date until next week. Not necessary... GTD enter queue daily same as other people. So it depends if you are faster or not.Unfortunately, the shares closed at RM2.20 yesterday. Let's say at pre-market today people wanna sell the shares at RM2, will i be ahead of the queue of those who keyed in at 8:30am today? Thanks! Queue from previous day are removed, and everyone have to re queue from start again. So no advantage. |

Hi, I'm working in a company that's listed in Canada. One of the privilege of working here is the stock option. I will be able to start exercising this option this August. Can anyone give me tips and/or guide on how can I buy my company's stocks from Malaysia?
ps: I'm a foreigner. |

Use a Canadian broker, your company will introduce one for you to exercise your ESOS options. Speak to your HR department to ask them to help you open one.ps: I'm a foreigner. Malaysian brokers do not support Canadian market nor they will help you exercise canadian ESOS options. This post has been edited by gark: Jan 16 2014, 06:46 PM |

Guys , can anyone explain to me the meaning of indirect shareholders and the term deemed interest by virtue?
And why can the sum of the percentage of indirect shareholders exceed 100%? Prestariang's substantial shareholders , the image is a bit blurry ![]() This post has been edited by foxtrotalpha: Jan 21 2014, 04:43 AM |

Back to the discussion of ROE, which I asked some time ago. I found some information which you may find useful
QUOTE(plumberly @ Dec 15 2013, 10:15 PM) Learnt this some time ago but still wandering how it can help me to interpret/analyse ROE better. asset/equity * revenue/asset * profit/revenue = ROE i.e., A * B * C = ROE The only thing I can gain is, if ROE decreases, then see which one (A or B or C) decreases, i.e., the cause. Other hidden inside things I should know? Thanks. QUOTE(gark @ Jan 7 2014, 10:09 PM) As you say mah... shareholders equity.... if you buy the share are you not part of the shareholder? DuPont identity tells us that ROE is affected by three things:Equity is total asset minus liability, whats left is alternatively called net asset value or book value. Now is it relevant to you? - Operating efficiency, which is measured by profit margin - Asset use efficiency, which is measured by total asset turnover - Financial leverage, which is measured by the equity multiplier ROE = Profit Margin (Profit/Sales) * Total Asset Turnover (Sales/Assets) * Equity Multiplier (Assets/Equity) source All firms should attempt to make ROE as high as possible over the long term. However, analysts should be aware that ROE can be high for the wrong reasons. For example, when ROE is high because the equity multiplier is high, this means that high returns are really coming from overuse of debt, which can spell trouble. source Furthermore, ROE can be manipulated with the following means: - giving dividend generously, thereby reducing retained profit - not re-evaluate properties, thereby lowering the equity value So, high ROE is not necessarily good |
