Helo guys... its been a long time since my last visit.. bdband probs..
Got some Q here.. I'm planning upgrading to i7 by this year end, ive done my calculation, around Rm5K to be spend on i7, meaning i gonna biuld the setup from sratch.. OR if i just upgrade my GPU to...say.... GTX285?? And a HDMi 24" LCD Mon... Which one is more considerable?? Is it worth go from my current CPU to i7??? COZ ive just read at some other forum says that upgrading GPU is more advisable than spending more on i7 (standard speed)... coz they say E6600 OC to 3.2, 3.5 even 3.6ghz is enough to process todays latest games.. because games is more utilise GPU rather than CPU... U guys can see my sig.. ive manage OC my old E6600 to 3.26ghz.. more than that, it'll crashhh... |

QUOTE(Demonic Wrath @ Aug 13 2009, 07:23 AM) According to FiringSquad, you can SLI 9800GTX+ and GTS250 provided they have the same amount of memory. e.g. 512MB 9800GTX+ must pair with 512MB GTS250. GT300??? Never heard that news.. so busy working and bdband kong...I'd recommend you to upgrade the latter choice (GTX285 + Mon). Core i7 motherboard is not worth the price yet. Your current CPU is good enough if it runs at 3+GHz. EDIT: Have you considered SLI GTX275? I think it's around RM200 more than GTX285 only but the performance is much better. EDIT2: Or you can keep your SLI 8800GT now, and wait for GT300 to be released. I'll try google now.. If its true.. whats the price tag than?? 2k?? And i guess im gonna quit SLI for a while... Coz a single GTX285 is on par or more slightly than my current SLi'ed 8800GT rght?? |

QUOTE(Demonic Wrath @ Aug 16 2009, 09:46 AM) To use RivaTuner to OC, follow these instructions:- NIce tip there bro.. thanx..1) Open Rivatuner, and switch to Power User tab 2) Under Rivatuner \ System, find the ForceDriverVersion entry and change it to your current driver version (e.g. for 185.81, change to 18581) 3) Click OK 4) Now you can access the OC feature. Anyway.. this is my future plan: can or not my current PSU to support dual gtx285?? I'm using Corsair HX620 and do a little OC on my system... |

QUOTE(ianho @ Aug 16 2009, 07:32 PM) U better buy a 1000W PSU straight. Dont waste time buying small PSU if u intend to play high end SLI. Requirements will only keep increasing with the quad cores n bigger+more monstrous gfx cards coming. Well in that case i just gonna get a 1kW Psu and a GTX285 then..... thanx for the oppnion. |

Tried that.. no cant see it there... Well i try reinstalling my chipset driver and the gpu driver... now im waiting driver 195.81 from 3dguru finished.. its beta, but im gonna try it.. *Demonic Coz, when im installed ver 195.62 which i got from nvidia webs, sys says not recognize it.. but i just click on ''continue anyway''.. i guess that might be the cause of the probs.. |

@Demonic
@nidzamputra I had enough la with Win7 Myb the newer gpu dont have the issue on it with win7 but for a 8800gt user and older gpu like me, i guarantee so much probs will occur.. Not just that, i found soooo many user/forumer outside there (in the webs) are facing the same probs like me.. such as, no nividia control panel, cannot enable sli functions... hang up when gaming in sli's, ect.. And almost all their question, don have the right solutions.. even Nvidia techiess didn't reply the posts, now why is that??hisshh thats it lahh.. If u guys dont believe me, try surf at nvida.forum or google Win7 Sli prob.. I revert back to my old Vista 32bit... its quite slow moo but... so stable in gaming and sli's.. I hope those NViDIA techiess will counter this issue later on.. but in meanwhile, i choose Vista is way more SLI FRIENDLY for SLi gamer like me.. SO, from my point of view, just 2days with my Win7, i would say that Win7 is FAST BUT, for SLI USER LIKE ME, U guys better stay away from Win7 for the time being... Until they (nVidia) figure out something (or nothing) This post has been edited by Mavrix: Jan 3 2010, 10:57 PM |

Guys
Ive decided to wait for GT300 series to come.. then myb i go for it and plug Win7 to my Rig.. hehehe But one Q, is it a large diff if i use vista 64bit if compare to my 32bit now?? Coz we know that 64bit can utilize all my 4gb rams is it? I know theres some Q about this matter but no harm if can discuss it again right?? Coz im OC my proc always and oc my gpu when gaming only.. but let my rams at its standard speed.. cause if i oc my rams, BSOD occured..even ive add voltage to the rams and oso to the NB, so is it might be my rams is not fully utilize 4gb in 32bit win is the cause of unstable result when OC full sys? Is it my current PSU cant support such setup?? But ive done calculating use PSU calculator but the result is sufficient.. Ive don memtest on my rams and it is in good shape. But.. sometimes when shutdown my PC, its go to BSOD. its not so frequent but sometimes only. |
