I don't want to create a topic at the Technical Support since there's a topic about SLI here. Have this problemo with my 8800GT SLI's. First it freezes the computer, then came out this stuttering sound then suddenly shut downs the computer (only during games). Thought it was the sound driver so I updated the driver but it still happens. Can anyone icon_question.gif

Bro eyern..

I guess ur PSU is not sufficient enough for ur GC's.. u got a zotac AMP there.. it is same as a OC version of other brand.. (OC version need more juice of power)

Try google for a sufficient PSU to power dual zotac AMP since u got that one..

Before i go for sli, i'm using CM550W Real Power... that is for normal setup.. but for OC (proc, rams,GC's) u need at least 600Wtt of real power PSU...more is better..

Are you sure my PSU not enough? I've read somewhere on the net says that 8800GT SLi requires 450W. But they didn't state which version of 8800GT whether normal or OC ones. I'm thinking of getting OCZ 600W ModXStream Pro Power Supply. Should be okay right?

I like your gc bro.. XFX tuuu brows.gif

For ur earlier post, yes i would say ur psu is too low for ur setup, it'll stress ur psu too much, heat-up etc, and in ur case its not enough juice. shakehead.gif Get true power >550 at least, 600> best, ive used CM Real Power 550 for my Sli with 2 oc-ed 88gt's n oced proc, runs fine . . . though its a bit too much for the psu coz of ocing. sweat.gif Now im using CM 850 for my gtx260+ . . . single though, not sure if its sufficient for Sli. hmm.gif

SLI = Scalable Link Interface if not my mistaken.

No I'm very positive that SLI is power hungry, is it my PSU fault?

650 watt CM xtreme power, not true power.

so output around 500watt there.

it couldnt be ur psu fault, if perf reduction can be caused by high temps, if not enough wattage . . . ur comp will shutdown like Eyern's. Anyhow ur PSU is also too low wattage for ur GC's. Get al least 600> wattt true. flex.gif

erm, its already known, I forgot where did I read up but somewhere says that it gives around 500watt for my non-true power PSU.

A true power is a PSU that is afford to give up the power it says.

heat is normal, as long theres good ventilation in casing it shouldnt affect anything. Single max 175 watt, x2 is 350w, not including proc, mobo, rams, hdd's, etc. 150w fro the rest is definitely not sufficient. Now true power psu is cheap to get, higher efficiency ull save better, low effi will cost u higher elec bill, watts taken by psu partly converted to output the rest to heat, thats wasting. laugh.gif
