If according to my sig, would it be sufficient to run sli? My guess it would be just insufficient.

Hello SLI experts!!! biggrin.gif

I need some help here..
Thinking wanna try SLI here with my Galaxy 9800GT... blush.gif
Currently I'm using P5N-D mobo.. ( blush.gif lame huh?)
Well u noe this mobo, the distance between 2 pci-e slot are very near.
Kinda afraid to buy a dual slot GC to SLI since the temperature might rise like hell. and fried up my GC..

Need some advice here on should I bought another Galaxy 9800GT or look for single slot GC like XFX/Leadtek 9800GT?

Help me out SIFUs!! notworthy.gif
*
wat is ur current gc temp? If its around 60-70 load, its should be ok to sli both. If ur so afraid, then just get a single slot.

Added on November 4, 2008, 3:20 pmJust curious though..
Is there any vga cooler out there that only took a size of a single slot?
*
go go and set up n post some pics n screenies here . . . a cooler which is single slot . . . hmm.gif thermalright t-rad is single i think, but it costs a bomb. Besides that . . . ac, xigmatek . . . good coolers take up 2 slots.

Erm.. currently only 2 manufacturer came out with a single slot 9800GT XFX and Leadtek.

Now kinda worried if SLI XFX with Galaxy might have a problem since Galaxy still using 65mm core..

Added on November 4, 2008, 5:38 pmAnyone knows bout Cooler Master Cool Viva Z1? Is it consume 2 slot?
*
dunt waste ur time on those, seriously, just stick with the stock cooler is better. Anyways ur only getting 64C load, thats fairly good temps i would say. laugh.gif

Guys, SOme q here..

About to install a asus striker II formula.. gonna fit it w E8500, and for the rams i planned to put 4gb (2x2).... plan to install either crucial ballistix tracer or corsair's..

My dilemma is, would i go for performance or value rams??

Had using corsair twin2x before w my late p5n-e sli but seems the rams cant OC more than its default speed 800mhz... so its a waste then..

So whats the story for this striker II??
*
grats on new mobo rclxms.gif .Well u have to know corsair twin2x is not meant for oc, unless its dominator series, if planning to get 2x2gb rams n to oc, get those rams from lolahol bulk, those r ocverclockable rams.

IF wnat save more money then buy XFX 780I ...can save up RM250 around and inside all is same as Asus STrike 2 Formula
*
Haha yes its very true, cuz xfx layout not as good as striker II and the package doesnt include so much stuff.

Are you sure my PSU not enough? I've read somewhere on the net says that 8800GT SLi requires 450W. But they didn't state which version of 8800GT whether normal or OC ones. I'm thinking of getting OCZ 600W ModXStream Pro Power Supply. Should be okay right?

I like your gc bro.. XFX tuuu brows.gif
*
For ur earlier post, yes i would say ur psu is too low for ur setup, it'll stress ur psu too much, heat-up etc, and in ur case its not enough juice. shakehead.gif Get true power >550 at least, 600> best, ive used CM Real Power 550 for my Sli with 2 oc-ed 88gt's n oced proc, runs fine . . . though its a bit too much for the psu coz of ocing. sweat.gif Now im using CM 850 for my gtx260+ . . . single though, not sure if its sufficient for Sli. hmm.gif

ya haha.

a question.

why did GRID run slower for me in SLI?
*
well, sli doesnt mean games would run faster, a single card sometimes perform better compared to sli bcs of . . . im also not sure wat they call it, scaling i think hmm.gif

SLI = Scalable Link Interface if not my mistaken.

No I'm very positive that SLI is power hungry, is it my PSU fault?
*
it couldnt be ur psu fault, if perf reduction can be caused by high temps, if not enough wattage . . . ur comp will shutdown like Eyern's. Anyhow ur PSU is also too low wattage for ur GC's. Get al least 600> wattt true. flex.gif

just as what i thought. its like an oven =O

maybe its just PSU *sigh*

but FX5600 eat max 175watt lerr
*
heat is normal, as long theres good ventilation in casing it shouldnt affect anything. Single max 175 watt, x2 is 350w, not including proc, mobo, rams, hdd's, etc. 150w fro the rest is definitely not sufficient. Now true power psu is cheap to get, higher efficiency ull save better, low effi will cost u higher elec bill, watts taken by psu partly converted to output the rest to heat, thats wasting. laugh.gif
