1. im not sure...but as for p1i, u can install documents to go to or office viewer to view excel files, power point n word files....i guess p990 also can...

2. different p1i with p990

-p1i new model
-p1i slim n not bulky as p990i (design wise, i prefer this p1i rather than p990i)
-p1i equipped with 3.2mpx
-sound wise not sure, never heard se p990 yet..but as for me, im satisfied with p1i walkman class audio
-p1i polyphonic 72 channels (p990i 40 channels)
-p1i has double memory size 128mb ram while p990i only 64mb ram thus make p1i faster
-p990i has matured FW compare to p1i (but this is matter of time)
-p1i has business card scanning
-p990i screen 2.67" while p1i only 2.6"

u ca install fring (for ur ym/msn/google talk), iSkoot for ur skype, documents to go & quikoffice to view ur word/power poit/excel files, opera mini for web browsing, powermovie/divx player mobile/smartmovie to view video in avi format, gmail mobile to view gmail, any dictionary (eg: sun mobile dictionary, MSdict viewer n etc) for ur dictionary convenience, handy clock to give more option for ur alarm/calender, swiss manager free/pro to free up ur ram, best calc for scientific calculator, gdesk if u wanna customize ur UI/main screen

this phone does not have profile function like nokia n other Se's phone (w810/k810 n etc)

base on the pics, in that condition really hard to notice green tint or pink tint prob

i noticed quite number of ppls wanna sell off their p1i in garage sales

screensaver ucan change it via main menu>control panel>device>screensaver
u can change to none, pics, default or slideshow

too bad for u...
dun no why u facing that difficulties,
mine really smooth n easy..no hassle2...but to explain it to u also im not so pro, coz mine when i wanna connect it to wifi (where there is wifi), it will connect...
if not in wifi, it use 3g connection...
for certain ppl will find this p1i (most features in a mobile @ rm12xx) quite hard, as for me, at 1st i js find quite hard to adopt to its qwerty...thats all..now i already can utilize it and get use to it

2. i use martin field screen protector which i bought directly from here
