QUOTE(cheeleong @ Jan 31 2008, 09:55 AM)
Hi guys... I jus got my N82 yesterday biggrin.gif

but i found out that my screen has 2 to 3 brighten pixels scattered here and there when my phone display is showing a very dark screen...

i was afraid that i has a "dead" pixels... but when it is showing bright picture, for example booting up the phone (Nokia words with white background)... everything was fine... just that there are 2 to 3 pixels are brighten when it is showing dark screen...

anyone has the same prob with mine? i'm quite sure it's not dust or the screen protector... or maybe i'm a perfectionist?

Help.....
*
For dead or hot pixel test,
go here --->Pixel test

Download the software and follow the instructions. Your N82 ori or ap? Where u bought it from?

QUOTE
Conclusion;
The Nokia N82 is a great phone and comes as close to a perfect phone to me. With GPS, a great camera and a host of connectivity options, it's pretty hard to not like this phone. Even its battery life is pretty good lasting a good 3 days of normal use (this includes mucking around with the GPS and camera). At around RM2,499 it only comes off as slightly pricey but seriously the camera functions and GPS more or less makes up for that. Now if only Nokia can come up with a brush metal version of it.

Previously i tried using outlook, it can transfer. Save all the contacts in address book .wab file.

In N82 use the PC Sync, click setting on the outlook address book tab, select ur address book.

It should work find.

QUOTE(cheeleong @ Jan 31 2008, 11:33 PM)
yea recording that time seems a bit lag... but my playback is still a little slow..

I tried 2 types of video recording.

1. the camera is still and i move some objects; for example: my hand.. the quality and FPS is not too bad..

2. try to rotate the camera to left and right... this is the worst part... when the video is playing, it's a lil' lag and frame drop..

try for yourself... dang.. seems like my phone has all the bad issue..  shakehead.gif
*
I just tried both. If u mean lag by the effect as in Neo dodging bullets in matrix, I can see them if we move to fast. Some 30fps camcorders have it too.

BUt wat do u mean by frame drop?

p/s: good to hear u are going to have a replacement for ur N82. Nvmind waiting At least can change. Now u can hentam and test the n82 features without worrying.

I tried with the memory card. more than 3 mins. Even turned my hp upside down 360 dgrees all side. Everything same.

May be u can upload ur video somewhere and we can have a look what u mean.

I am sad to say, that yes all three N95, N95 8GB and N82 are all recording at 30fps.

If u want a phone that has good video quality its LG Viewty. 120fps. But there are a lot of other drawbacks in it. No GPS. Not a smartphone. Not Symbian or Windows CE. It is only Java based.

Considering all aspect of the phones (not only video), IMHO the three Nokias are still the best choice available. Its a matter of preference which of the three to choose. At least we are symbian, we can find nice applications that are symbian based.

Dont worry cheelong, we all made the rite decission. It is just that u were maybe dissapointed with the display screen yourself then u find out this and that. Stay cool...

What do u mean convert files to N82? Movie size? or Movie format?

IMHO

N95 ~ 2 yrs old technology. If u see the design, it has no umpphhh now already. To old design.

LCD pixel problem, restarting issue and laggyness.  sweat.gif
Is this problem also affect the ORI?

So far so good for me (touch wood). no such prob.

QUOTE(sean392 @ Feb 5 2008, 08:38 AM)
Does N82 offer ISO adjustments?
And how much does it cost for a Zitron set? Not interested in AP.
Thx
*
I tested. Low iso 200 medium 1so 400 and high iso 500

QUOTE(sean392 @ Feb 5 2008, 05:08 PM)
Sweet. I had bad experience with my first phone which was an AP, so its been authorized distributor sets since.

Anyway, any idea how much a Zitron set costs ? General market price.

Ori RM2288. Maxis deal RM 1688.

QUOTE(iori57 @ Feb 5 2008, 11:27 PM)
Can anyone give a detail review of the GPS in n82? My brother owned a N95 before and he told me that the GPS is very unreliable... dunno about n82...

thanks in advance smile.gif
*
Consumer GPS as a whole is quite unreliable. If u get a device that is purposely built for GPS, it might be a bit more reliable. It all depends on the chipset used. How many channels u have i.e. how many sat u can lock to.

Yalo..The # key is buggy..sweat.gif

If u really wan music phone, SE W series would be best, not Nokia. shakehead.gif
If u wan Nokia music phone, N81 is not the best, 5610 will be..
If u wan functionality, N95 8gb/N82/N95 will be...
If u wan gaming, N81 will be...

Clear? flex.gif
*
Good point there bro. I add one.

If u wan good camera, LG Viewty will be..

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Feb 12 2008, 01:45 AM)
but all rounder would be N82 rite?? nice speaker, less laggy then N95( a lot )
better imaging also
*
IMHO, as an all rounder both N95 8GB and N82 can do the job well. For imaging the balance is slightly over to N82 with xenon flash but taking videos in low light conditions is towards N95 8GB with LED flash light. For multimedia such as video viewing, it is sightly to N95 8GB for its screen size and dedicated media keys.

IMHO, in the comparison, N95 should not be considered. There is only one point besides the price that i can think of that N95 has a slight edge than the N95 8GB. N95 have memory card slot. But 8GB is a plentiful to some people. To compare N95 (N95-1) with N82 is like comparing the 1985 saga with 2008 saga. Price is nearly the same but technology wise, far behind. Anyway thanks to the experience with N95-1, Nokia is where it is now in smartphones.

well, too bad got it slightly more expensive compare to all of you
did survey from sg wang till lowyat
all giving me rm 1.8-rm 1.9k omg
*
Wow. Price has gone up shocking.gif

But lucky u OnePageMemory. If u compare your price with others, for AP set its quite ok.

Enjoy your rediscovering of storytelling.

I guess for Ori, go for maxis. but how long is the contract? 12 month?

If "GPS Data" use backlight setting for the phone i.e. 60sec.

For Garmin XT can set the light time in settings.

I used the original memory card provided. I doubt it's the card speed. I've seen other users reporting the same error I have on other forums. I am using GMXT 4.10.60 and map v2.15. Sheesh... Maybe gonna reset my phone later.

Added on February 15, 2008, 9:15 amLooks like I need to wait for the US version of the firmware cause right now the latest firmware is only released in EU.

Changes / Improvesment made from firmware 10.0.046 to version 11.0.117:
    *  Camera application:
o Improvements of 'Unexpected error...' probability when starting up with quick succession of camera lens cover open/close
    * Music player (Music player stability):
o Fix for music player freeze when operating app from accessory remote controller e.g. BT headsets, AD-54 etc.
    * Map application:
o Reset fix when opening Map app from landmark app
o Long Map app closing time
o Address search in Chinese character
*

Why need to wait?

Most of us have version 11.0.117. Just use ur Nokia Software updater. can update.

Consumer GPS are like that. It lack accuracy and performance.

The maps we have from malsing is also not very accurate. Imagine thousands of people giving informations such as track and POI. It is bound to have errors here and there. So far i have tested the v2.15 is quite accurate. Consumer GPS hard to get better than 10m accuracy espeacially for phones with GPS.

All in all it is just a guide. Like your reverse sensor. nothing there also beep beep. Cant rely on it 100%. Need to use human judgement.

ps: penny, drive safely... 150km/h?????
