I check the bills. the time and date tally when i loose the fix. Got 6-8 sen a lot. ekekkeekkeekek. but no matter, those were ust for testing purposes. Now no longer use A-GPS. it is useless to pay that sum of money for something is given free.

Do u mean it will charge our network operator account everytime use A-GPS? If I disable the network usage then there will be no charge on our network is it???
*
Yes everytime u send a GPRS packet (ie. using A-GPS) u are charged. what do u mean disable network usage? under what settings?

Just remembered, each time your A-GPS is working, there is an E symbol near your signal bar with arrows. the area where normarly if u use your phone for surfing, got 3G or 3.5G symbol....

Hope that helps.

1. hmmm.. like dat in terms of gps, PDA built in is better. AGPS on HP6965 only download once every 3 days, GPRS or wifi. 2. D810 doesnt use AGPS, hence still lock at least 5 satellites minimum within 10 seconds stationary, 30sec on motion.
i only talk abt gps ah.. not other function.
*
1. Does not mean u A-GPS every 3 days u are better. U must compare accuracy and speed to fix. hot and cold fix.
2. Any GPS built-in or out or not built, needs minimum only 3 sat for 2D positioning and 4 sat for 3D positioning.

Hi guys,

I just bought an N82 last nite. Must say the phone looks sexy. Like it so much. Toying with it till 5am last nite. Haha..

Havin problems setting up the access points though. Im a maxis user and i only get the settings via sms. But unfortunately N82 is not in the list. Is there any kind soul here who would help a brother out by guiding me in setting it up.

I sound so stupid by making this request. But i'll try not to be so dependant and learn up. Thanks guys.

Regards.
*
You bought ori or AP? Mine is ori, as soon as i insert my simcard it automactically creates all maxis acces points. wap gprs and 3G.

Why not from the list u try using N95 settings. should be same.

Like this phone, but the design is not that appealing. Can it support 4GB external card memory? Any idea when the AP version will drop until RM1600?
*
IMHO, it will drop to that price when there is N82 8GB.

QUOTE(alpha_numeric182 @ Jan 14 2008, 08:28 AM)
is there any known problems or issues with this phone? i'm considering to buy it..
*
No problems.

HSDPA
WIFI
GPS
CAMERA + FLASH
PHONE
BATTERY
DISPLAY
KEYPAD
etc etc

Everything is superb.

this phone still buggy.. whenevere u press the # button, this will happen. to solve this (for the time bing), press and hold menu button and go back to messages then it will be ok.

Hopefully NOKIA comes out wit a new firmware for n82 ASAP that solves this wink.gif
*
As described by dzi921 thoroughly on the first page and as discussed here previously, the phone is fine. The only thing is the Garmin software has incompatibility issue with the N82. I believe the firmware is as up to date as it can be base on Nokia's experienced with N95 and N95 8GB.

If you feel that u do not want to experience the problem mentioned, then dont install Garmin.

Hi, just want to check if anyone encounter any problem with the sync of music files in "Music Player"?

The prob I had is : When you add a song to the phone it will auto detect the Album, Artist and etc, but when I delete the song from the mem card using the "Nokia Music Manager", the Album, Artist info is still there.

I not sure if this is a known issue or only me is experiencing such prob.
*
I experienced the same thing. I suppose it is a problem with the pc suite. Just delete manually on the phone lah...... thumbup.gif

Cause when it is fresh after hard reset, the # issue won't happen

Dunno is true anot...but i still faced the problem after uninstall Garmin..seem it is the fw bug, not caused by Garmin... sad.gif
*
Maybe like dzi921 said need to hard reset not just uninstall.

But i can live with it. Either that or use nokia maps... shakehead.gif

Hmm... shakehead.gif  Even delete from the phone, the music category from previous music uploaded still there, example the Album, Artist name from previous song is there, but inside is empty. That is strange, how do you remove those category then?
*
mine delete from phone , everything gone. All no more artist name. I delete it under the "All Songs" list.

the only thing that worries me is the battery life... everything else is superb.
*
It depends. It is a phone. If u use it as a phoone, than the battery would last as long as the manufacturers specs. If u use all the feeature GSM+GPS+WiFi+MP3 player, definitely it would not last very long. I have tried using GSM+GPS+WiFi from full to 14% battery capacity is about 2-3 hrs usage.

Consider some laptops with wifi on can last barely 2 hrs.

Handheld GPS on the other hand, some particular models can last more than 5 hrs but with 4x AA enegizer batteries. If with normal AA 2 hours+++.

IMHO, So if u have GSM+GPS+WiFi on, 2-3 hrs is pretty good.

*
For a fast and cheap alternative u can buy a N95 screen protector. Just protect the screen first and wait for a better solution.

Just wondering, if n82 is using A-GPS, and it does use GPRS to send a little bit of data, roughly how much data is sent? Would it be just a few sen worth or a few ringgit?
*
The charge is 5-8 cents per A-GPS data transfer

anyway guys, have u realised that u cant use 3g to surf on n82? mine keep coming out an error that reads "packet data: connection not allowed". i've been trying to check my mail for the past 2 days but cant seem to do it because of this error. is it maxis problem or n82s? fyi, ive tried video call and its working fine.
*
Where did u get the crystal casing? Show some pics pls...

I think there is something wrong with ur 3G settings. Mine is ok. I use the N82 sometimes to surf using 3G and at home HSDPA (3.5G).

sorry la bro.. only camera i've got is n82 tongue.gif

i got it from novacell. and it doesnt scratch the phone la.. ngam ngam nice fitting - which makes it a pain in the ass when tryin to remove it lol.

what kinda wrong settings? i went to *100# and redownloaded the settings and still same. did you do anything special?  rclxub.gif and how u know ure using HSDPA or just normal 3g?  whistling.gif
*
All Novacell got the casing?

Under the signal bar there is normally an icon. It just shows an antenna if it is normal GSM and a 3G icon if it is 3G. It will turn to 3.5G if it is HSDPA...

which one is better in terms of video recording and picture clarity?

SE k850i or KU990 or n82?
*
Definitely KU990. It is designed and made for that purpose.

Does N82 AP Set also comes with 2GB mini sd??
*
It is micro SD actually. With AP set phones, u must make sure they have it when u buy it and recheck it again, open up the card in the phone just before u leave the store.

It has pre installed Adobe Acrobat LE 1.5. It is compatible with all pdf file i tried.

I even tried to see its capability by opening a calculus text book of 300++ pages. All formulas did show up nicely. I found most desktop without updated and suitable pdf reader cant see the formulas properly.

There is a newer version of it i.e. Adobe Acrobat LE 2.0 but still in beta.

As for office documents, the quick office version 3+++ is not sufficient to show your documents nicely. Try to find version 4+++ and above.
