Guys, I am wondering whether you all have this problem when updating latest firmware from Nokia Software Updater.

It shows that "Phone is not supported" when i connected my phone with usb cable. Is it because I bought my phone from CSL and it is not original?

Grrrrrrr... HELP HELP
*
Use NSU v1.4.23en

The weblink is somewhere in the early pages in this thread. I also lazy to search back tongue.gif Take note there are two links (asia, european), I use the european one, and it works.

Regarding my battery issue, I tried today again with my GPS, phone calls, photo taking (with flash), until now, still got more then 1/2 battery on meter. And I used GPS even more this time, about 45 minutes.

What was different, I didn't carry my phone in my pouch, but in my pocket. I'm guessing, the magnet on the pouch is causing the camera to activate in the pouch without me knowing and when it keep activating and deactivating it drains hell of a lot of battery juice. Just my deduction. Will test again tomorrow and see any difference again. Will update you guys and gals.
*
Yes, activating/deactivating camera, go out from sleep mode, etc. will eat more juice.

Also same if signal is weak, as it keeps on searching for stronger signal. e.g. signal weak in basement or inside office.

Anyone upgrade their N82 to latest firmware (11.0.117) yet?

Any pros and cons for updating it?
Or have u guys discovered any BAD for updating it?
*
Yes, a lot of us here upgraded to 11.0.117 already.

Most of us did not notice any major improvement or downside to it.

Go ahead and upgrade it smile.gif

Just a question regarding GPS.

Any charges (using maxis) apply when we use Nokia Maps to find our GPS position/ Current location?

Did they use GPRS/WAP or WIFI to locate it?
*
No, if you remember to Disable Assisted GPS (A-GPS) in Nokia Maps settings.

I'm new into this 3G TV thing, but can try it out since I have unlimited data plan. What is the Maxis TV web link ?? I'm a bit blur now.

I think the problem is, you must set your phone profile to "General". Not Silent, or other customized profile in your h/p.

Let me go check see. rolleyes.gif

Yes, for those lucky b@5t@rd like you and me rolleyes.gif who bought N82 and get the cert for the new IMEI in Jan '08.

FExplorer 1.18b S60v3 is currently one of a few famous s/w app you need to sign yourself for S60v3.

For those procrastinating to buy until today, sad to say, you have to keep on procrastinate and see what happens. It affects all S60v3 like N95, N95 8G, upcoming N96, etc.

we can't anymore, symbiansigned is closed to public. the only cert we can use are those we generated previously and saved into our PC until they expires smile.gif
*
We can't create anymore for others.
1) We need to submit the .csr (generated with each unique IMEI)
2) Then submit this .csr file to symbiansigned to generate the .cer

Step (2) is closed for public now... doh.gif

well, basically im trying to install it on my lappie and then i receive the error... is there any other apps i need to install together??? the nokia pc suite i install already... icon_question.gif
*
I think start from scratch.
1) Uninstall all Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Software Updater (NSU), Nokia Cable Connection, Nokia etc...
2) Install Nokia PC Suite
3) Install NSU
4) Launch NSU and plug in cable.

Mmmmmmm I've been taking lots of pics with my N82 and sadly, although the camera is king among other camphones ... the quality can't match even a middle-range dedicated digicam, especially in poor lighting conditions ...
*
Of course there is no comparison with dedicated digicam. N82 lenses are so... puny. Like comparing a strawberry with a durian. doh.gif

A pic taken with my S5IS, copied into N82... looks better in N82 display than the same picture taken with N82. blink.gif

yeah...if cameraphone can already compete n beat stand alone camera...then these stand alone camera will running out of business.. tongue.gif

*
And if we are talking about my digicam which can capture 3fps with built-in flash consistent until memory card is full. Not even into high end DSLR with hotshoe flash which can take >8fps. blink.gif

The best N82 can do is around 0.2fps (i.e. 1 picture every 5 seconds) doh.gif

Then compare my S5IS with 12x optical zoom which comes standard. Including 4x digital zoom, that's 48x zoom. N82 got what x zoom ??? sweat.gif

How to compare, right ? Like strawberry vs durian. tongue.gif

But... i still rate N82 as the best camera phone, so far...

Both phone cam, digicam and videocam with digicam... all has its own niche market.
