myaho2,
yeah..ur rite..HOPE hubs not many ppl bring in n sell here in klang valley..here, more on Shimano, Ringle, Chris King (hard to find), DT Swiss (not many too), Mavic (usually bundle with wheelset), Novatech and some taiwan hubs..those hubs u can see them on the display in klang valley..but not HOPE hubs...i haven't seen one yet so far... anyway, u can look for Hope XC hubs (which i'm using) weights around 385g (rear) n 200g (front) or Hope Pro II hubs weights 280g (rear) n 190g (front). the Hope Pro II cost more la of course This post has been edited by akchang: Dec 26 2007, 04:26 PM |

QUOTE(myaho2 @ Dec 26 2007, 08:34 PM) forget about singapore for items you can get here..i'm sure bikepro and KSH has Hope hubs..its just that the shipment only come once in three months..therefore when it arrives dont wait, once it is sold you really have to wait..i was in singapore twice last months and i only items which you cant get here.. i bought a A2Z hubs, 36 engagements, it weighs 160g front and 200g Rear.. Specialized Deviant Fullface Helmet 900g only (not even carbon)..Shimano stuff (forget about it), RockShox Revelation Dual Air 100-130mm (malaysia dealer is not bringing in this fork). Chris King stuff is cheaper here...Specialized stuff have to get in Singapore..no dealer here..let you know on one thing..Specialized only take order for 10 nos or above for a single item..therefore you only get glove, water bottle, grips etc here..fast moving items..imagine to bring in helmets 10 nos for each item,,we dont have the market here and too many brands as well..lbs here only brings in stuff which are fast moving..thats why you only see Santa Cruz, Yeti, Scotts, Ellsworth, Titus, Haro, Intense, Turner etc.and some odd rare brands. So far i am the only person who rides a 08 Speshy Stumpjumper..the other three frame is still hanging in BikePro.. |

blown my front tube today lol...
well it was already waiting to blow coz theres a hole in it last time and i patched it up with electrical tape and today the hole got so big electrical tape can't do shit lol... went to my LBS,got myself a Maxxis DH Tube the tube is for 2.5-2.7 and its friggin huge while my tyre is a 2.3 lol... now my front tyre is pumped damn soft and the tyre itself had changed its behaviour lol... can't imagine that a simple change of tube can change the tyre's performance so mcuh it soaks up bumps better than my front fork and the tyre looks slightly larger now lol... looks like i won't be changing my front tyre for some time now lol... |

Just hit the Kiara Trails today! Definately climbed up "Snake & Ladders". Down "Dirty Deeds" (is that right?). Down "Longer Short". And from there, somehow ended on the horse trails which was crap.. Literary full of crap and stagnant water. Was damn afraid that those water were horse piss! Did not manage to kill myself this round there! Great time flying down "Dirty Deeds" (around switch backs and beams). |

Me cycling with my church buddies. Could not really stop at the exit. Hit the 1st or 2nd rock, lost balance, threw myself of the bike and landed on the rovers track. My right leg was trailing me so it hit the concrete divider.

well here is more on my rideat sg buloh/ frim, my new camelbak bladder works great in my deuter backpack, in fact i didnt even notice the backpack even with 3kg of water and tools in it. but my 2.1 panaracers were abit of a drag in the wet sandy and light mud conditions. i think my old 1.95 panaracer and specialized team pro would work better but will have to wait till after CNy to get them from KK.
my trusty old Jamis Durango climbed well but steroid was a killer but me still abit descending about some of the drops and coming Steroid was a bit scary at some points coz it was a bit hairy and steep at some parts. This post has been edited by dickybird: Jan 14 2008, 09:14 PM |

my current cable routing is pretty weird and long to enable barspins coz planning to learn barspin soon lol...
and coz the cables are long and bend here and there, cable flex is pretty noticable... |

Can't wait to start riding again.. Must start to slow down also. Hahaha. Realised that humans are quite fragile and very prone toinjuries.

I'm looking for a backpack that holds a skate helmet. Example, 661 Mullet or Giro Flak.
I checked out the Zefal Atlas already, can hold but not really steady in place. Is there bags designed to hold not normal helmets, but stunt helmets? |

my tools used to be everything jumbled up in 1 small box lol...
yes i mean all of above except the spray stuff lol... inside 1 box which was used to house an iron which my mom bought Added on January 19, 2008, 4:52 pmpunctured my tube this morning on the way to shah alam extreme park... what was it caused by? not pinch flat, but a friggin 3" nail which burried itself deep into my tyre and tube after that, went to frens house and bought from my fren an unused Kenda DH tube with 2.25mm thick walls compared to my front Maxxis DH tube of 1.5mm thick friggin hard for me to insert to my 2.3(which is actually more like 2.1) rear Conti Gravity.... and now my bike weighs like a steel bike my bunny hops are significantly lower so must try to get used to that extra weight lol... currently running a Maxxis DH Tube with thickness of 1.5mm in the front with a fatass Tioga Blue Dragon and Kenda DH Tube with 2.25mm thickness with a conti gravity lol... this may sound overkill but its perfect for me lol... What's the difference with all this weight thingy... The real difference is the rider.. Haha...
I guess by just going to the toilet before every ride might save up some weight? |

I've already tuned it to my liking. Just that the tire pressure was not right. Everything was just right. I don't know if it was the tires or what but i felt that i was riding on air. Bumps were really soaked up well. Especially the back suspension. The front did well too when locked out (climbing). Using a 08 Talas RLC does help. Din't try more than the recommended 120mm thou. Really love the air fork. Usually i would be able to feel the whole shock all the way up to the arms which means aching after that but with the Talas, the plushness!! SWEET!! But decending was a totally different story cause of the wrong tire pressure. Was wobbling all around and with all the mud around, that din't help at all.. XC bike with the ability to do small jumps? That's what i'm really looking for. Some what reaching the AM side? Will try it again soon.. Really soon.. erm... actually if u descend and if u feel ur tire is bouncing too much and no traction, u reduce the tire pressure rite?
especially on wet track... |

On wet tracks I prefer higher pressure and thinner tires...1.9 or 2.0..

Because when it's wet, the soil tends to be soggy and softer, so I prefer a thinned and harder wheel to grip into the soil underneath. On dry weather I prefer bigger and softer tires because I'm riding a hardtail! Bumpy..

I always liked the Manitou Black... Cheap but old...
I think tire pressure depends on riders.. Well I mean thin as in 1.9 size and fat as in 2.1 size.. If tires are too hard for hartails, it'll be bouncy at the back and very hard to get traction when accelerating. And hard tires during wet so it can 'cengkam' the solid surface at the bottom. This is just my style ma.. |

tyre pressure depends on riders..thats so true AndyLo!
well, im using 28psi (26x2.1) on dry trail...works perfectly! Hitting the curves n bouncing are just nice for me. |

the stanchions of Suntours are very thin, same as lower-end models of other brands. But the Epicon's is fatter. Well thin stanchions doesn't give me the confidence somehow, unless they are those 'treated' alloy and not the normal ones...
Well, a fork plays a very major role in a ride, so I say get a good one if you're planning to get one. |

How far is it away? Ride there la....everything's possible.
Talking about distance, I asked my friend once(he's one of Penang's top XC rider), I asked him how they trained, and he told me to train by going distance, not uphill or anything. I asked where he rode, he said just ocassionally off-road but 50km of road ride a few times a week. This post has been edited by Andy Lo: Feb 9 2008, 02:51 PM |

night...your frame can take 120 mm fork ??? isnt your frame a replica?.....you better make sure your frame can take a 120 mm or you might be putting more stress on the head tube due to a different head angle from the design....the welding around the head tube might not last as long as before |

twin peaks? shaolin trail? Added on February 11, 2008, 2:16 pm QUOTE(myaho2 @ Feb 11 2008, 09:11 AM) night...your frame can take 120 mm fork ??? isnt your frame a replica?.....you better make sure your frame can take a 120 mm or you might be putting more stress on the head tube due to a different head angle from the design....the welding around the head tube might not last as long as before well mine is an AM frame and i guess AM frames can take up to 140mm rite? For that budget I would prefer a good condition used bike with a basic hardtail frame.

Suggest you better change them...like any rubber stuff...they have a shelf life...it will harden etc...though it looks ok...it will crack fast under load...thats why you dont buy new car tyres which is already more than 2 years old........anyway to add to the low pressure soft ground debate. generally lower pressure is better for grip, traction on fir ground but you risk pinchflatting if it is too low. so it is a balance! but on mud can run lower abit more coz the mud is softer and wont pinch as much. Also for offroad riding its better to get fatter tyres, at least 2.1....dont see ppl use less than that on xc trail....smaller tyres are for on road as it gives less resistance hence can pedal faster.....but for offroad wider tyres gives better traction & spreads the load over a wider area so it doesnt easliy sink into wet ground....that why 4x4 have bigger/wide tyres... but if you still think otherwise...you can always try & see wat happens Added on February 14, 2008, 9:44 am QUOTE(LeonTan @ Feb 13 2008, 10:32 PM) hi everyone... Hello fellas,
i am looking for some advise before buying a Proton T-Bolt. Ran a search in the Sports Channel but i can't find any discussion about this bike. anyone using this bike with advise? I dun bike now but would like to start. Gotta find something to do that is both interesting and healthy. I got an offer for this bike @ less than RM900. so i am thinking should i get this. T-Blaze goes for RM400. |

t-bolt is a very nice bike...
a carbon main frame with a alu rear swingarm with rear DNM shock and Deore LX rd and shifters with Tektro discs(though i recomend you to get the brakes changed)... rear travel 4" or was it 3"... nevertheless,it is a great beginner's bike and a very comfortable bike... my fren owns one and it ain't bad but his comes with a KS rear air shock and it sucks badly... and IMO the BB is too near to the ground recomend u to get it,change the shocks, brakes, fork, crankset, cut the seatpost and u can use it for some playing in kiara dh trails lol... ps: reason why its rm900 coz proton ain't selling bikes no more... the bike ure buying will most likely be clearence stock This post has been edited by Nightstalker1993: Feb 14 2008, 11:43 PM |

Gotta find something to do that is both interesting and healthy. I got an offer for this bike @ less than RM900. so i am thinking should i get this. T-Blaze goes for RM400. U got rm900? Anymore stocks? |

QUOTE(LeonTan @ Feb 15 2008, 05:55 PM) Pls PM me the price... I like the T-Bolt. It's acctually a good all around bike for that price. If you're opting for branded like Merida, Giant, Specialized, Kona, whatever, you'l probably be able to get a frame and maybe just a fork as well only. So far how's T-bolt? Is T-bolt good? QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Feb 15 2008, 06:36 PM) Okok enough with your need for a longer fork and higher BB, nobody rides like you here!! haha...Added on February 15, 2008, 8:26 pmEver considered T-Blaze? There's a model with the carbon rear, that one is really good IMO. Forget about frames breaking, and low end parts. Everything breaks if abused and technology improves... yea the traisl in kiara are comfusing if u don't have a map in hand...
theres no signs or anything and when u reach the top of the tarmac there will be a crossroad u can go 4 ways and theres no sign at ALL... so recomend u either get a fren whose experienced in kiara or go there with at least a map in ur phone and when u go up try to join someone's group hehe... btw any1 facing this problem? creaking sound from the front fork when u brake/apply pressure on the fork... sounds like its from the fork steerer tube area making the sound... my old fork used to have this sound but i comfirmed that the sound was caused by the fork coz when me and my fren swapped fork his bike which used to be silent is creaking like hell lol... and the first week of usage there was no creaking sound from my fokr but recently the sound had started to appear... the sound was there since the GTA frame and when i changed to GT frame the sound was still there(zoom fork a.k.a. fake pilot),changed my headset too and sound is still there... now with a new fork, new frame and new headset, the sound is starting to come back |

There are measurements online and i think at the 2nd post of this thread. Go check them out!
As for me, i'm 160mm and small built. So a 'S' bike (16") is just right for me. |

QUOTE(LeonTan @ Feb 18 2008, 08:04 PM) Today went to the new bicycle shop at wangsa melawati near 7-11... He got sell T-bolt 2007 model rm1200... Izzit expensive? Ahahhaahha.. Got meh T-Bolt year 07?demio121, that time u told me u bought a T-bolt rm850 right? Ur T-bolt is which year model? izzit 2007 model? There are only 4 basic colour for T-Bolt.. Blue, Green, Orange and White.. If you so happens to see any Yellow coloured ones, those are consider limited edition coz they don't make that colour anymore.. They do also have Yellow T-Bolts called Reef, which was a limited Edition as well.. Or they have the Australian version of T-Bolt called Terrashark which comes with a Carbon Swingarm... refer to the link below.. the bike is my fren's bike.. http://bicyclebuysell.com/view_sell.php?id=17002 If T-Bolt comes at RM1200 price tag, then it might be an upgraded version.. It must comes with rear shox Fox Float R, a hydraulic brakes mostly Magura and a better fork, maybe RST Capa T5.. It should also comes with AlexRims TD18 if I'm not mistaken.. If you are goin to buy T-Bolt then query about the sizes, try sitting on it and bounce you body to see the clearance between the seatpost and the rear shox... more clearance mean you will not hit the rear shox with your seatpost... I got a seller who wants to sell a T-Bolt 2nd Hand for RM600 I think.. If interested then I will query the seller... |

actually Proton get their frames from EPX which is the Terrashark...
whicih means the carbon main frame ain't made by proton... just a simple import, put in some parts,rebadge,resell... only diff would be the parts and the fact that proton replaced the rear carbon swingarm with their own alloy swingarm which looks fugly lol.. |

From what I always heard from you, the way you describe your lbs, I think you should have gone straight to KSH.. haha..
Happened to me many times already. There's this shop near my house in Penang, and there was once I went to replace a tube for my bmx, and to take off the tire means I have to remove the wheel. The man insisted on taking off the brake pad instead of just loosening the cables, and when i told him this is harder, he said to me "You want to do it yourself or you want me to do?!" So...what can I say? (I didnt have the tools to do the job!) .. So he removed the brake pad and bla bla bla... When he wanted to put back the brake pad, comes the headace. It;s a U-brake, and double pull. Very very complicated. He managed to put it back, but it was all screwed, there was no tension at all in the spring and it just suck. Till when I went to CCI and the malay boy did everything for me within minutes. So fom now on, I ratther not go to normal shops. not that I look down on them or anything, but they 'want face' and they will tell you that they can fix anything. I got my rd messed up before also. Went to a shop, he insisted that he can fix it, but I dunno what the heck he did he just tighten my screw on the rd till the thread was gone. Ya I know proably these easy tasks can be done at home, but I didnt have my tools with me at that time.. Disaster. Added on February 19, 2008, 4:08 amAnyone knows the price for TORA 318? The one with 85-130mm adjustment? Any ohter forks(cheap) that has travel adjustment withing the range 80-110mm? Added on February 20, 2008, 3:17 amWhy so QUIET....... yea meh?
polarized cuts out certain harmful rays more than the normal lenses plus it works great in high glare places, making it ideal for fishing and out can even almost see the shadow of the fishes underwater with polarized lenses. plus if u wear polarized lenses you can c rainbow on car windows everywhere. |

Polarized reduces glare or reflection.
Night, the one that is light sensitive is photocromic lens. |
