hey guys need a recommendation for xc saddle lah, my specialized BG comp gives me a burning sensation after riding for a while so have to keep shifting.
something not over rm 250 please?

Added on December 27, 2007, 4:24 pmwe know singaporeans need to buy a cert called COE before they can buy a car right? so do they need a COE before they buy a bike ah? hahaha maybe that is why their bike parts so mahal?

nola the cateye sticks out like a sore thumb so when i put the bike upside down the bike is resting on the cateye and one side of the handlebars sweat.gif
did u see a short fella using a red KHS Alite with a white Rockshox Tora,a tall chinese fella using a Kona Scrap with a Marz drop off(i think) with front BB7 discs and another dude using a stock Norco Wolverine?

if u do those are my frens and the dude with the kona scrap is borrowing my front discs coz he don't have one lol...

i dunno, i was 2 oxygen deprived and scared out of my mind to notice specific bikes and ppl. maybe got see them, saw a lot of freeriders or downhiller at the top of the highest part of bukit kiara. it is a cool place. just let me get up to standard first, still scared of some of the drops that i saw.

weaknesses:
didnt lean back far enough,
didnt adjust the brakes' bite point so not so quick to lock, some more i have speed dials! shame on me!

strengths:
at least i didnt turn back once i committed to the trail, ride, walk or fall i did finish the trail.
and i outclimbed some girl girl rock climbers up a trail, haha probably the only time i will outclimb rock climbers.

so i must improve or get a new full sus ride brows.gif

kiara is not for the faint hearted...i have been goin there non stop for 5 months and still struggling with some of the trails which have steep descent with switchback..balance is key and get your butt off the seat and push down on your pedals at level for traction and balance..move your body front, aft and sideways..stay off your brakes at all times..watch where you are going at least 10 to 30 feet away..and lastly keep riding kiara like there's no tomorrow..dont expect to conquer Kiara by just riding FRIM or other trails..it doesnt work that way..you need to master the technicalities of the kiara trail to enjoy riding there..if not just stick to normal xc at less challenging trails and get youself some body armour including fullface helmet if you do not wish to rearrange your face...besides ther's no novice trail in Kiara..enjoy the Land of Kiara while it is still there......

Dvng speaks the truth, dunno how long before some developer pays off somebody from putrajaya or kl and bulldozes the place for high end condos etc. just like they are going to do to what remains of sg buloh. thanks for the advice, been thinking about how i could improve...
and then i found out i bent the rear shifter cable adjuster just as it comes out of the shifter. cry.gif i sure hope it can be put back in.

your rear shifter cable adjuster bent?....had the same problem....the screw adjuster was partly broken when it got bent during a ride...it was just a matter of time until it broke off....i dont think you will be able to straigthen it....it cause me to be without a bike for about 2 weeks until i got a 2nd hand part from the bike shop (got it from a broken RD).....not an easy part to get....lucky change to XT 08 shadow RD...now dont have to worry about it anymore... smile.gif
*
you stressing me out, it is not the rear derailer that is broken but at the shifter la, then just change that bit for the old bit from my alivio lo, hope my LBS still keeps them. cry.gif

that happened to me recently with my right brake lever barrel adjuster...

all i did was cut away the bent part and put it back lol....

but i can't adjust my brakes via the barrel adjuster la lol...

the BB7 proves to be really convenient with the tool-free pad adjuster lol i can even adjust when riding...

though not as easy as using the barrel adjuster la lol...

no worries all fixed when i went to my LBS and got a new saddle too.! slimmer and lighter than my spesh bg comp which was killing my sensitive bits. feels good for the 5 minutes i have been riding it haha.

well here is more on my rideat sg buloh/ frim, my new camelbak bladder works great in my deuter backpack, in fact i didnt even notice the backpack even with 3kg of water and tools in it. but my 2.1 panaracers were abit of a drag in the wet sandy and light mud conditions. i think my old 1.95 panaracer and specialized team pro would work better but will have to wait till after CNy to get them from KK.
my trusty old Jamis Durango climbed well but steroid was a killer but me still abit descending about some of the drops and coming Steroid was a bit scary at some points coz it was a bit hairy and steep at some parts.

iI'm considering in getting a Zefal Atlas hydration bag.
What do you guys all think?
Comments? Suggestions? Opinions?

hey man it looks good, if the price is right buy it! if not and if the supplier for Deuter bags is clearing stock in your area then go have a look, i got my Venom 30 pack for rm130 and it is great for the riding i have done so far and is big enough for an all day ride i think. plus i upgraded it with a 3L camelbak bladder. it is cheap and i love it!

but before that going home to kk for CNY this friday so i can get my 1.95 xc tires if they havent melted. haha so no riding till 17th feb. sigh
