@rx330,
Just the other day during lunch, a guy left his Crumpler bag next to him; in an easily 'grab-able' position. Though it was a Black Crumpler, it looked pretty nice *grins* I jokingly told my friends i was tempted to just grab the bag and run off *grins* - except i know how troublesome it can be with lost files, hence suggested perhaps I should just go up to the fella and grab his bag and tell him he's got 5 seconds to empty it !! *grins*

I think it's important to just becareful, whether or not your laptop's insured or not! The heartache's less if it's insured but it's still heart breaking to have to lose all those data!

I don't think thieves do much good things around here. The only way is to make regular backups of your phone/laptop.

For Mac, use SuperDuper to make an exact clone of your HDD
For phones, I just sync the contacts I have to my Mac.

As for the recovering your Macs, there is this service online which keeps track on your Mac if ever if goes missing.

@balok,

You can buy it online. I don't think it comes in a physical form of CD, only downloads.

@rx330,

I would more than happy to "steal" the Vaio for you. smile.gif

@rx330,
I'd been brought up not to take advantage of these things - it's against my principles.

I dun think serial numbers are useful. I worked in a mac shop b4 but they wont bother to trace all serial numbers...

Nowadays where oso not safe, is our own responsibility to protect our laptops...

thats if you have the macbook switched on, or you have a portable speakers that allow everyone to hear it. The sound isn't that loud and its still an unstable software. The only good it does is that it takes photo, but i believe his notebook was closed...isnt it..

@-Jonathan-,
Speaking of sound. Is it me or do I find the MBP speakers a little soft; i mean, especially in a crowded/noisy environment? Other notebook speakers seem to at least be loud enough to listen, unlike mine!
