Is is worth or it's useless?
Btw, if a person die, his family members need to bare the debts of the credit card? I tot no right?
*
It depends on individuals. It is useful for those who don't pay full amount, and have huge debt, in case they get sick or disabled, they don't need to worry about cannot work to get salary to pay CC debts.

For me, it is useless, as I pay in full every month, and I set aside some $ for my current month expenditure bills.

IINM, debt is individual, they cannot chase your parents/wife/children... unless you borrow from Ah Long.

i plan to get CC for petrol as main expenses...

anyone can suggest me which 1 better?
between maybank petronas/ standard chacted bhp / citibank shell?
how the comparison between these card?
*
I use Mobil/Esso.

Get Amex. You get 2x CC points forever and 1x-1.5x Smiles points (depending on promotion)

Using Visa/Mastercard, you don't get any CC points (except during promotion period), just 1x-1.5x Smiles points (depending on promotion)

I'm not sure about the Maybank Petronas cc. But last year I applied for Maybank Visa Gold, it takes a month for processing from the day you submit the application form. Almost every bank will send out the letter to the customer should the card gets approved or declined.
*
Not StanChart tongue.gif They didn't send out letter and I have to check by calling the hotline number.

Anyone know how frequent our CCRIS is updated by the bank ?
*
All banks need to update BNM at least once every month, which includes the CCRIS.

I don't carry that around me. I leave at the house last time when there's a need to access the online accounts.

I saw some of my colleagues carry that around with badge ties (the one you hang your badge round the neck).
*
I have HSBC PV only, with that device + cheque book. I keep the device in locked drawer and used once every month to login:
1) Check balance from salary.
2) Write a cheque to transfer all money to Maybank/StanChart.

Why ?
1) My travel pattern and locations are not HSBC friendly/convenient. MBB ATM is everywhere.
2) My CC are consolidated to MBB as well, with Citibank as backup.
3) I can login M2u without carrying that device around to check/audit my own account from time to time. Although M2u security is a concern, I have been using M2u since Sep 2000 (8 yrs) and no problem at all, so far... touch wood.

I use MBB Amex CC as much as possible, as it is 2x TP forever, including petrol.

BTW, side track, what is the minimum balance in HSBC PV to waive the monthly rm5 fee ?

Anyone here has an AEON credit card ?

I used to have this card but I canceled it after 2 months of use. I made payment and they said they didn't receive my payment although I furnish them with proof of bank transfer. This went on for 2 months and I gave up and just cancel the card - I can't believe they have a bad system in tracking down customer's payment. Apparently several of my friends had similar experience as well so I felt good canceling the card. It's perhaps the shortest time I use a credit card from an institution - normally I'll use it at least for 1 year before considering to continue or cancel.

AEON credit card is the only non-financial institution to issue credit card in Malaysia if I'm not mistaken. Customers need to bank-in their credit card payments to bank accounts.
*
Nope, tempted to apply for 2x Jusco points. tongue.gif

But MBB Amex CC + Jusco card = 2x TP + 1x Jusco points

No worries. I got rejected too many times... sweat.gif currently not a high spender anymore due to change in job nature. Hence I don't need that many backup CC and too high credit limit.

Since talking about credit limit, I check my Citibank monthly statement. Seems like it has change:

Card Spending Limit (Had Kredit) = (X) RM.....
Installment Loan Limit (Had Pinjaman Ansuran) = (Y) RM.....
Total Credit Limit (Jumlah Had Kredit) = (X+Y) RM.....

So, which one is my true credit limit ? X or X+Y ?
hmm.gif

e.g. If I swipe a couple of flight tickets, my limit is X or X+Y ?
If I swipe a couple of Osim chairs and installment payment, is X+Y ?

Anyone can answer the above ? rclxub.gif

Anyway, just got a tele-marketer call +60321704888. Here's roughly how it goes:

TM: Hi, can I speak to Mr. cute_boboi
CB: speaking
TM: Hiiii... I am calling on behalf of Citibank... on bla bla insurance coverage... may I know your age please ?
CB: If you are calling on behalf of Citibank, then you should have all my information.
TM: Oh no siiiir... we don't have the full info, only your name and h/p, as other information is P&C and Citibank does not release it out.
CB: In that case, why does Citibank release my name & h/p as I consider it P&C between Citibank and me ?
TM: ??? ... ? Anyway siiiir, we are offering an insurance bla bla bla..
CB: It's ok. I don't have any plans and budget to spend more on insurance right now.
TM: Oh... in that case, thank you siiir.
CB: Welcome.

*** The only thing I have with Citibank is Credit Card. mad.gif vmad.gif

Boboi, you are not the only person who experience it. I also own Citibank CC only and get the same telesales calling.
Guess not only Citibank sell our info, even other bank does that, eg. Maybank.
*
Based on the rough statistics... the most tele-sales I received are:
1) Citibank (at least once a month)
2) StanChart
3) HSBC (apply this week, next week got tele-marketer call) doh.gif

No offense to the names above, but that's the reality to me. My main usage of a/c and CC are Maybank, yet I receive very minimal marketing/calls from them. Maybe MBB is not aggressive...

The others are free hotel/hospital checkup tele-sales, not sure where they get the info.

the most important is to know your X amount..this is the Limit of your retail credit......

all bank will run check on you...how many cc/loan all can see one......

pointless punya kerja

Agree. You want to know how, spend 1 hr in Bank Negara, ask for a personal CCRIS check. It's free. They will print out the bank codes, loan amount, etc. and ask you whether you have loan/credit in x, y, z banks. This is for them to audit whether you have un-authorised cards/loans that you are not aware by looking at your facial and gesture.

After that, they will give you the few pages printout for your own reference. thumbup.gif Remember to bring your MyKad for verification purpose.

At the same time, you can bring all those RM1 coins and old/torn/half notes to exchange new ones.

RM70 petrol

That day @PC Fair, the Maybank approached me for Petronas Visa free for life.

I asked them, I'm an existing MBB CC holder, I'm interested on MBB Petronas Visa CC, can I still apply for it ? The fellow looked lost interest... and ask me to go personally to MBB branch to enquire. doh.gif
