^i dont have a HDTV so u might read your model's manual for more info. i think some models can disable the blue screen (under some options setting) and just get a dark screen instead when resolution change occur.

Guys want to ask, after all the research and also with budget in mind,

There are two models which is very near and very close towards each other in all the specs, only that LG wins a bit.

42PG60UR RM4099
(30,000:1, single frame, 150Hz, support DIVX,JPEG,500cd/m),3HDMI)

TH42PV80H RM3990
(15,000:1, support SDHC (JPEG), 3HDMI)

Hope someone using these models can help comment. Thanks

Hi,

I just bought my 80gb ps3 last monday from Sony Centre mid-valley. The TV im using is Panasonic VIERA TX-37LZ80MK..

Everytime i start a game, the TV screen flickers blue screen (2-3 seconds)and the game starts normally. No problems encountered while playing. And when i quit the game to go back to the ps3 main menu the screen flickers blue screen again (2-3 seconds).. this only happens when i load and quit a game... i have no BLUE-RAY movies so haven't tried in regards to that..

I have set my video settings as automatic as well as tick on all options, 720, 1080i..etc.. however this still happens.. i read about having HDMI handshake issue, is this the same? I'm using the HDMI cable provided by Panasonic, not sure if its CAP ayam or suppose to be good, but i have tried my friends Sony HDMI cable and its still the same.

The HDMI cable is plug to my HDMI 1 input, is there a difference if i plug it to HDMI 1 or HDMI 2?

I'm wondering if anyone have encounter this problem or is this normal where the TV or PS3 adjusts the resolution whenever i start and quit the game?

Other than this, which is annoying at times... everything else runs smoothly ..

Thanks in advance..

I'm using Sharp AQUOS LC-32A53M. Yup something when it change the resolution you will notice a flicking. But for Sharp it won't be 2-3 second with a blue screen. Mine just stated as 720p and 1080i in the panel. Not really have a flicking.

HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 is no different. Just and extra HDMI port for you.

My brother just bought panasonic LCD VTX-37LX80MK. The website states that the Backlight Control but my brother say there is no way to adjust it after going thru the manuals.

He also notice some backlight bleeding on the bottom left of the LCD when watching those widescreen movies with the black bar on top & bottom of the screen.

Do you notice the same thing?

42" only? Hmm.... that only leaves you with Toshiba, LG, Sharp and Philips as Samsung and Sony only have 40".

Well if you don't mind paying more and don't mind black borders, the E248WFP is a more advanced monitor.
I'd still suggest the S2409W though.

BTW, an update on BenQ's E/M 2k series monitors.
Currently stock is extremely limited in Asia, theres no shipments of the monitors to Malaysia yet sadly. Price is still up in the air though.
I'll keep a look out for you guys on when it'll arrive, I am myself eagerly waiting for it too!

Dear all,

I'm having this problem of LCD TV flickering when connecting to my ps3. I'm attaching this Hitachi LCD with a setup-box and I'm connecting my ps3 to this setup box.

So far I've tried using :

1) AV Multi (PS3) to Composite (red, white, yellow) - LCD display is flickering and it's in black and white
2) AV Multi (PS3) to D-Terminal4 - LCD display is flickering and it's in color

I've tried resetting via the XMB menu (with much difficulty) and also soft-reset using the power button but it's not good. I'm thinking of trying a HDMI -> DVI connector and see how it goes.

This is truly frustrating and expensive exercise! Hope someone can help me out. I've just moved to Japan and everything is freakingly expensive here!

Thanks in advance for the help.

I resolved my own problem. It is the NTSC/PAL problem. I reset the display and it goes to Standard (PAL) display and that is why there is such problem.
I somehow manage to guide through the settings and selected 576p and 720p and accepted the changes and holla! problem solved!

Playing in 720p definitely much better than SD!

Thanks to anybody who contributed.

Cheers.
