Torrent version of Beta build 7000, Expired on 2nd of July 2009. doh.gif
Better use Public Release to make sure full functionality. Public Release ISO size is 2.7GB but torrent ISO is 2.4GB, means that some functions and features has been added in Public Release.

rclxm9.gif Remains 1 more day 4 the Public Release! rclxm9.gif

The public beta is the same as the leaked one, thus the same build number, 7000 and not 7001 or 7002 and so on. Goddamnit my TechNet+ isn't activated yet!!!! vmad.gif

And my taskbar never full when using 7. Very nais indeed. But the leaked ISO's SHA1 isn't the same as public beta. And the torrent copy doesn't have the expiry date (I removed my name there). Aiseh...

[attachmentid=754016]

And I want a beta key. Jiahaa.

AFAIK, public can get their fix at microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/ Refreshed since this morning, the download is not available yet. Be fast, only available for 2.5 mil download only. According to Microsoft, the download is available January 9 afternoon, but don't know afternoon where. Most probably Redmond's afternoon. To us, it's our late night.

Wow, I cannot be any happier for those who disliked Vista. Almost all response from those who did try the non-public Beta Build 7000 version gave positive response.

And the official site is growing...

That is if you're able to download, remember that Microsoft only open the beta to 2.5 million downloads only, and it's 4am in the freaking morning! vmad.gif

Beta la. Same thing during Vista Beta. Everyone (that tested the Beta) loves it. Full version is a different story

It does seem through, that the public beta will be exactly the same as the leaked ones floating around the Bittorrent network. So I wouldn't wait, to be honest.

Windows 7 is no doubt faster than Vista, and my experience does back that observation up, but I still pine for XP. Anyone having problems with the Intel 5100 chipset under Windows 7 through?

Oh no no no. UAC in the beta was horrible. And the people who loved it were the people who like eye candy. It held nothing positive from XP, and it was only after I turned UAC off that I got my sanity back in Vista.

Aww come on... Windows 7 is Windows Vista re-engineered. If you disliked Vista for all the 'usual Vista' reasons, then Windows 7 will ease it. As for UAC, I know its annoying but how is it 'horrible' ? I mean, it appears less than Vista.

Context: Linkin was reffering to the beta of Vista. I had the unfortunate experience of using it, and it is just stupid. Deleting ANY INF file had more prompts than my mother when she grills my sister. And moving a file has something like 5 prompts, asking me if I really wanted to move the file, activate the file copy program, activate the file copy API, change the time stamp, and finally write the file to the disk. Now imagine copying 10 files. Multiply by 10. That was how bad it was.

Even when RTM, UAC still drove me nuts. SP1 was a step in the right direction, but I still go crazy when it asks do I really want to open Event Viewer. YES I DO DAMNIT!

UAC in Windows 7 is slightly less, but I am still miffed that I have to open Notepad as Administrator to edit it. I've been spoilt by being able to have a shortcut in my sidebar, open with Notepad, and edit!

Not quite big if you're referring to the whole world, it'll add up pretty fast and the next time you know it, it's already closed for download for a later date... sweat.gif
