Pre-Market

Goreng in progress, and as USUAL:

FNM, FRE, AIG. In fact, I opened up the 1hr chart, all are having the same pattern.
*
Yeah but they're not that 'crispy' today though.
Maybe they ran outta cooking oil today...

Oops. Was only looking at AIG today. FRE and FNM frying nicely.

Oh.. that's because DRN/DRV like FAS/FAZ is for short term play.

Gold is good for long, for hedging. I'm keeping GLD. This can go to 100 soon.
Not sure about DGL. I think it is the same but cheaper price.

Yes, Gold is bullish now.. if you wanna play.. wait for a bit of pullback and buy some.

I like precious metals like Gold, Silver and some commodity metals like Copper.
These are my longs..used as hedging when economy recovers and inflation kicks in, they're good for your portfolio! nod.gif

Don't worry.. opportunity always come around for these high beta stocks because they're volatile.

Look for it again next week when many more traders return.. or if you want.. look for a spot to dive in tonight if you want to hold over the weekend. tongue.gif

But Monday is holiday in US, so better not to hold over the weekend.

After 2 weeks of research, I think I will go to ETF rather than ordinary stocks, especially GOLD for Long Term.

For day trade : Better ones are the power 3x from direxionshares.

DMC, question for example on BGU (BULL) vs BGZ (BEAR).

Either one can buy, for example if I'm bullish on DJIA, then only keep an eye on BGU. I can either long or short it.

Say : DJIA +100
Why some traders open 2 pos?
Long BGU
Short BGZ

or say DJIA -100, why need to :
short BGU
long BGZ

Isn't that its just enuf to short BGU?

Sometimes when there are no shares to short. You have to buy the Bear share.
Like this morning, I wanted to short 200@DRN but can only borrow 100 shares to short.

Or.. sometimes shorting the bull stocks is cheaper than buying the more expensive bear stocks or vice-versa.
It all depends.

Are you in for trading or investing? smile.gif
Remember, for investing don't play those 3x ETF or high beta. It is very very dangerous. nod.gif

I'm planning ETF for day trade as the 3x is risky.

Only good ETF is the http://www.proshares.com/funds
Choices are for ULTRA Sector or Commodity
Worth to study are, which are not 2x or 3x, just pure vanilla.

Ultra Oil & Gas DIG
Ultra Real Estate URE
Ultra Gold UGL
Ultra Silver AGQ

* Note: GLD is "expensive" for me.

Long Term holding will be C or BAC.

Side Note: UNG - Natural Gas bouncing from 52 weeks low at 8.80's

Added on September 5, 2009, 12:08 amNow I understand. Sometimes MB Trading can short C, sometimes can't. I guess your info that one can "borrow" certain quantity only.

Today cannot short C, only Long. Yesterday and Tuesday can.

Yes, that's the reason. Some people think we can still naked short but cannot do that anymore.
It is like RSS with uptick rule in place already, but it isn't difficult to do since it is all electronic.
US brokerage have efficient system already in place through their ETN system.

KLSE of-course a bit 'susah' to short. I'm guessing our brokers don't talk to each other except through Bursa
and by the time you acquire the shares. The price may already changed... doh.gif

--update:12:30am
Opps: Look like we got mini bulls trying to sneak back in..
perhaps going back to FAS and DRN for long over the weekend now. tongue.gif

Whoa.. doh.gif The mini bulls are getting bigger...
All shorts are now covered!

See how the sharks can bite!! sweat.gif

--update:1:34am
Correction: Volume is low.. shorts covering cause the up run.. I'm one of them earlier. laugh.gif
All cash for the weekend is safer. sweat.gif

Will play again next week. biggrin.gif
