Any advice on what subjects should i take for my electives?....I'm studying mechanical btw..currently i  have these subjects in my study plan:
1.Computational Fluid Dynamics
2.Finite Element Method
3.Turbomachinery
4.Power Generation
5.Industrial Energy Management
*
Are you a power generation company's scholar? Otherwise, 3 and 4 may be of limited usefulness.
FEM is more widely used (usually for structural analysis, but also used for fluidics) than CFD-centric methods (FVM).

One very multipurpose elective, if still offered, is on project management.

Try to broaden your choices of study in electives. Will help to maximise your chance of preparing you for whatever job that may come your way. Don't think you can be a specialist by your choice.

I graduated in '01.

Don't worry. You don't need timeslots to get good timetable. icon_idea.gif I got good way to camp for slots for the class you want.. But I don't want to reveal it yet. Scared UNITEN ban. LOL! Maybe wait until my final sem.

The discussions in this thread makes me miss Uniten..my classmates..those nice lecturers..the environment. I can’t wait to see my classmates for the coming convokesyen which is on August!!
To all those new student, hope you enjoy the orientation. I did enjoy mine and even influenced me to become the fasilitator twice.
Btw, I’m IT graduates. If you have any questions on those lecturers and subjects regarding IT..feel free to ask me  biggrin.gif

p/s Wow..the apartment fees are bloody expensive..those MPP must be sleeping a lot.

timeslot is a certain time period given to you, to register for classes or apartments.

no need to worry la. haha. the IT college is darn nice and quite high tech coz it's just build few years ago. during the orientation you will have some sessions there. wish COE could be like that, haha. once you come here and settle down everything will be fine. biggrin.gif

Timeslot is given specific times for you to register for example like your timetable and apartment application. You will know your timeslot when you log in to your own student page. You will find out more about it during the orientation because there will be one section for those IT student to register Co-curriculum subject.

Bout the lecturer, it depends. Different lecturers have different personalities. Maybe when you receive your timetable, you can share with me those lecturers name. I’m able to tell you more about them if they have teach me before.

Just like what dlwl said, don’t worry too much. Just go by the flow
Just raise your problem to those facilitator during the orientation..they will definitely able to help you laugh.gif

No need to be scared. There's nothing wrong about uniten. Just that if you don't have a car it's hard for you to go out (To eat or to go to Mines/Jusco Balakong to watch movie and shopping) And believe me. My first year when I didn't have a car I was cut out from the world. LOL! Just go make friends with someone with a car. brows.gif

You are compulsory to stay at the hostel during the orientation but you may choose not to continue stay in hostel after the orientation ended. Actually its quite fun to stay in the hostel as long as you got the nice roommate and housemates. If you are lucky enough to get housemates who are doing the same course as you, you guys can help each other..

If you are really active in SIFE, you even have the chance to join SIFE trip to overseas for some related event..if I'm not mistaken it was sponsored by TNB.
