Megan Fox revealed to IGN that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has “twice the budget” of the first film. Not that anything Fox says should be taken literally, but lets pretend for a second that she’s relaying accurate information and not just spouting off invented exaggerations. The first film was made for about $151 million. So by Fox’s calculations, when all is said and done, Revenge of the Fallen will cost around $300 million. Imagine how much more big robot action that kind of cash can produce. The answer is double that of the first film.

In other Transformers 2 news, a new set photo from jalopnik reveals a mystery Corvette concept car. The car is surrounded by Autobots, which leads us to believe this new car is also a good guy in alternative mode.

When the teaser trailer for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" will debut has been the subject of a lot of talk in the fan community, and one of the film's scriptwriters Roberto Orci has added a little more fuel to the fire.

When Mr. Orci was asked about the possibility of the teaser trailer for the sequel debuting with "Fringe," his newest project premiering on FOX this fall, on "Transformers" Producer Don Murphy's message board, he responded, "[m]aybe -- or maybe in front of EAGLE EYE... who knows."

Eagle Eye, the upcoming Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible III) thriller, will premiere in theaters on September 26, 2008.

Mr. Orci's comments differ from comments previously made by "nelson," site administrator of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" Director Michael Bay's website Shoot For The Edit. He previously mentioned that the month of November would be a reasonable timeframe for the debut of a teaser for the film.

You can't keep a good Decepticon down, it seems. After suffering a thorough beatdown at the hands of Optimus Prime in last summer's Transformers, the villainous Megatron looked destined for the scrapyard. Not so, says CHUD.com's Devin, who reports today that the sinister Decepticon leader will be back in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen -- in tank form.

Fans will remember that Megatron originally debuted as a handgun, but was changed to a tank for Hasbro's "Series 2" line of Transformers toys. He transformed into an "alien jet" in Michael Bay's blockbuster flick.

A more pressing issue facing the producers of Transformers 2 is what form star Shia LaBeouf will take. The troubled actor reportedly mangled his hand in his recent alcohol-related traffic accident, so much so, in fact, that the movie's storyline may have to altered to accommodate the injury.

Director Michael, who is directing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, admits that the sequel is being rewritten to incorporate Shia LaBeouf's injury in a recent car accident.

LaBeouf, who played Sam Witwicky in last year's live action Transformers, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving last Sunday following a collision between his car and another car in Hollywood. His hand was crushed in the accident.

Bay was quoted as saying, "His two fingers are pretty smashed. But we're figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it into the story."

LaBeouf's lawyer Michael Norris also has admitted there is a chance the 22-year-old actor will not recover from the injury to his left hand.

"He will need regular medical supervision until his doctors clear him to return to work," said Michael Norris.

"His doctors remain hopeful that he will fully recover, but due to extensive surgery and the nature of the injuries, there remains a substantial risk of both infection and other complications."

LaBeouf's passenger, Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas, and a female passenger in the other car both required minor hospital treatment following the incident.

But the Los Angeles county sheriff's department has suggested it may not have been LaBeouf's fault.

A spokesman explained that police believed the male driver of the other car had ignored a red light.

ComingSoon.net has learned that Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released in both conventional theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2009.

The first Transformers originally hit conventional theaters on July 2, 2007 and then was released in IMAX on September 21, 2007.

The sequel stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Isabel Lucas, Rainn Wilson and Jennifer Alden.
