how long the duration for a-level in help college?
*
the normal course is 1 1/2 years but the the march intake will graduate the same time with the january intake (meaning that in june the following year, both batches will graduate at the same time) So March intake students are at a disadvantage here as they have less time to cover the syllabus.

there's also the fast lane (1 year A-Levels course, only available for january intake) with some limitations, I can't remember much more of the details sad.gif

there are no best lecturers, just depends on personal preferences. Some people might think that this teacher is good and the other might think vice versa. I think HELP teachers are quite good and dedicated too biggrin.gif

Hope to get few questions answered here.

1.) My friend is going for the March intake, and I registered for the January. Will he/she be studying at the same class with me? Will we graduate at the same time?(We are both taking the same thing--foundation in Arts)

2.) My friend has financial difficulties, is the PTPTN loan enough to cover his foundation in Arts fees? He/she is worried about that.

3.) Is Diploma or foundation better?
---- My friend wants/desire to take Hospitality and Tourism but not 100% sure. Everyone urged him to go for Diploma but I think that foundation is better since young minds tend to be impressionable. I'm afraid he'll regret(who knows he might dislike the course---> wasted money on Diploma) Even I changed my mind about 4 times, therefore I think foundation is better. The only advantage I know for studying Diploma is that money is saved. (+ a more specific study into a particular subject)

4.) I've heard that foundation certs are useless OUTSIDE the college you enrolled into. Is this true?
Lets say, if I finished my foundation in HELP, will I be able to take my degree at other college?

Thank you.

Hi Bry4nGaGa92,
I m going to foundation in arts too for Jan intake.

If i m not mistaken ptptn doesn't give loan for foundation.
And for arts course, ptptn only give 5000 per year.

If your friend has financial difficulties in A Level, what makes him think he will not have financial difficulties in future private university degree course?

IMO, he should forget about A Level and do STPM instead. Then go aim for dirt cheap public universities.

In life, one should learn to live within their means. Otherwise, we will all be demanding all sorts of thing. For me, that would going to Harvard on scholarship on a private jet with some beautiful playboy bunny as air hostess cool2.gif

Erm, tomorrow will be like an INTRO day. So, I think notebooks and few pen should be fine.
Anyway, they didnt mention what to bring so dun worry.

You do prove some points there. It's life, to say in short. sad.gif

But I'll try to help him though. I'm going to ask the counsellors there on how to help him. I'm sure it's solvable.

Hey im in the same intake as you I think. Erm.. I overheard from the programme coordinator that it is encouraged to only join only ONE group to avoid confusing the lecturer. So you must choose between Group A or Group B. They will take down your attendance.

hmm.. but one of the seniors told me. can go for both. blink.gif
