i also like goldfish, i mostly use AV mode, easy for me to adjust the DOF(depth of field), and M mode for certain mood @effect hehe~~

i dont understand about the lens. what is the 18-55mm on my kit lens means?

how do i know whether a lens is a macro lens, telephoto lens or a portrait lens?

the 18-55mm is the focal range..
A macro lens has a very short minimum focus range?
A telephoto lens are lenses are those lens that can zoom into the action from far.
Potrait lens .. I would say are those lens that can take the subject while having the background blurred out. Lenses like the 50mm f1.8 =)

Do correct me if I got my facts wrong

not sure. coz i just know speedlite ex version from canon. i'm oso looking one. but not intent to buy it in short moment.

if me...lens 1st lor. hehe. more expensive than body itself. no money.

sigma makes flash too, it's cheaper but not sure of the quality. for canon speedlite cheapest is the 430ex about 1k, the 580EXII is about 1.6k, cost as much as the 60mm macros lens
