8800GTS 320MB SLi upgrade to 9800GX2 QUAD SLi

worth it?

not cannot tahan...my GTS320 is working perfectly for me right now.... all games i throw at it runs fine....even crysis @ Medium @ DX10

but then i really worried about the quad sli issue la...scared become like the 7950gx2 again

i know a single gx2 itself is enough to whoop my GTS320 SLI already...

ya lor...me oso just only went to the nvidia webbie....

only got drievrs for the 96 only for 9 series

i kinda expected the GX2 to be power hungry monsters....

which is why IF i decide to go quad SLi on the GX2 ill be getting a second PSU i.e. SST DA650 to just power the cards only

the rest of the system will be handled by my current OP750

V1200 only supports 1 PSU

actually.......... the G92 8 series are of lesser power comsumption than the previous gen 8 series......

from what ive read around the net.... the drivers gonna be a week late...dunno if the date for that has changed or not....

either way...im gonna give it about a month to see proper and official reviews of this card..

hope its better than whats been floating around the net

can be done....u just need to know how (not that hard oso anyway...just google)

as for the 8pin....saw a review on the net for the zotac 9800GX2 and it came for the molex-8pin and molex-6pin converter. so dont need to worry...

if it were me id probably get a strider 400w for all the other components and use the acbel for the GC only

if ur running single GX2 then i guess the other way round is fine as well

where to put is up to ur imagination la.....

should be more worried about how to turn the second PSU on when u press the power switch (got guides on the net...but u willing to do the mod or not is a diff thing).

the dude might have a point about them SLI enabled games...plus theres also the driver issue.... oh well. have to wait and see somemore

not yet buy la..... driver is 1 thing....have to wait and see reviews and benchmark oso... and also make sure quad SLI actually works for vista and XP.

still gonna take 1 or 2 more months until i decide...

if performance not worth it i might not buy oso....so far all the results has been very disappointing.

looks like i am NOT going for quad SLI... since vista is required for quad sli to work and i have no intentions of fully migrating to vista just yet....

im still using XP quite heavily...and a move to vista wont be wise for me considering some of the softwares i use might not be compatible with vista...

looks like ill be fully concentrating my funds towards my car's makeover

hell yeah....and guess wat...total cost is still cheaper than a 9800GX2 Quad SLi

that includes bodykit, brand new front and rear bumpers, complete respray inside and out, sound proofing, and a few more titbits here and there for my lil kelisa

actually i am...Tri SLi would probably be the best for me right now if i dont go Vista....but ive had another thought oso... considering im only playing at 1680*1050...i wonder if such high end cards in Tri SLi would be worth it. coz looking at the Quad SLI review... it only truly shows its real power in higher resolutions.....some games it even performs worse at lower resolutions...so it kinda makes me wonder.... n NO im not getting a bigger monitor

oh well....mebbe ill just end up with a single 9800GX2...

well see how it goes la....right now ive decided a GC upgrade is not really important for me considering my 8800GTS 320 SLi is working perfectly.....and gonna concentrate on my car

Very High is only for Vista

but there is a tweak out there for Very High settings... can google or check the crysis thread in gamers hideout.
