in reality, most companies in Malaysia uses SAP because of its name. they dont even use the full functionality of SAP.
I believe most SAP consultants would agree with me on this
*
nope i dont think so..

companies are usually very cost conscious and i dont think they pay so MUCH just for its name. normally they would engage consulting firms like Accenture for e.g for a solution.. for sure Accenture wanna untung a LOT of money so they propose to use SAP... then company sure reluctant coz so damn high pay... so Accenture will send in its BEST marketing and sales people in and 'psycho' the top mgmt of the company til they nod. then these sales ppl untung commision in millions of ringgit and accenture earn commision from SAP + consulting fees... then after implement the customer baru realize kena tipu, so didnt use much.. force its staff to use it so that wont waste money lol

Sorry, I could not add much valuable points here because I'm not with the consulting team.

However, I do read somewhere (external source) that "certain customers" have been complaining that "certain consulting companies" are using fresh/inexperienced consultants; resulting many issues and delays. So, it's understandable that for more complicated projects, customers will prefer the vendor smile.gif
*
aiseh.. u ... u should share ur knowledge here ma.... don;'t censor ok tak....

so u're moving to ACS as a performance tuning expert dy lah brows.gif high pay looo someone whistling.gif

all the best bro !

Good to hear that...already scared when someone said GUIXT will be replacing ABAP lol...
*
aiyah.. GUIXT is just like microsoft frontpage saja..... u still need VB & ASP to create a web app mah rite..

edit : oops since ms fontpage no more exist...

GUIXT = webparts design of MOSSharepoint designer. ABAP = VB/ASP to design the webparts in MOSSharepoint designer

cheezy, not even close to that lah .. guixt is used mainly to customise complicated transactions where may be half of the fields are not required in regular transactions. E.g. FB01 screens, there are too many of unused fields for the user, so you could create a variant transaction using GUIXT to simply the data entry.. that it .. not much you can do with GUIXT.
*
oops yakah... sorry bro hehehehe... i remembered when i do the training for guiXT... it's to design the interface and layout.. and we need to write ABAP for PAI and PBO rite? hmm... okay.. maybe karat dy.. =P

[1] Chezzbal, if you can quote companies which are screwed up by SAP, or Accenture please list them all here. I would like to know and see if your facts are valid and not some relentless ranting. Cmon, talk facts..not just making noises of complaints.

[2]Chezzball, remember your homework,

Added on May 3, 2009, 5:07 pm
[3]certified does not guarantee u high pay and a  job btw. i know ppl who have paid 25k and struggle to find job in SAP.

[4]First questions is..do you have experience. Second if you got family. And they will pay you normal salary, if got family a lil higher..Thats all.
*
To answer your question with facts

point 1.

"SAP implementations are notorious for their difficulty and cost overruns, and last month jeweler Shane Co. blamed difficulties with SAP's software as partly responsible for the company's bankruptcy." facts here

point 2. mah homework and mah assignment

point 3. i am certified and i get paid more than my seniors (non-certified) now... and FYI it's RM31.5k

point 4. some experience, higher paid than the married guy over thar

you know the drill, pic or.......

Today i was pulled in by the recruiting manager into a BW/BI interview.. the candidate was from accenture.. 5 years experience in BW.. i was asked to interview him on technical Qs... I'm kinda surprised and disappointed. I was expecting more, by reading from his resume he seems to be quite 'keng' in accenture doing BW... The junior consultant in my place can answer almost 80% of my questions(i prepared them last minute this morning) while he can answer only ..maybe 10%? sigh..he seems a nice guy though...

What are the questions did u ask?
My BI/BW rusted already, trying to recall..
*
since he is coming in for senior position, and for an implementation project, so i asked abt implementation and development stuff loh... data modelling, tables, performance tuning, BIA,ETL.. etc.

QUOTE(Doppelgriff @ May 7 2009, 05:27 PM)
Did this guy state if he was in Solutions or Consulting workforce?  There aren't that many BW folks in Accenture  and u rarely do the same thing for 5 years. I wonder if this guy did more technical work or client facing.  Sounds strange to only be able to answer 10% if the person have 5 yrs experience.  Or was his experience include working for other companies before Accenture?
*
He's from Consulting. 2 yrs a BIG MNC in cyberjaya 3 yrs accenture. Seriously only 10% lol... but my question is for senior person la anyway, quite technical.

QUOTE(imax80 @ May 7 2009, 05:30 PM)
As far as Accenture is concern they only hired those superb.
*
Are yeu sure rclxub.gif

QUOTE(Vv.SoViEt.vV @ May 7 2009, 05:34 PM)
how much salary he requested? 5 years BW/BI in accenture? shocking.gif  if he is real, can your company afford him?
*
5 yrs in BW/BI. sure can afford him coz memang expected that kind of pay with 5 yrs exp, but manatau he cannot prove himself.

QUOTE(wiraone @ May 7 2009, 07:07 PM)
Come again? Superb in what?  hmm.gif
