QUOTE(Tctf @ Nov 2 2017, 04:01 PM) I got a agent told me so... wanted to get in a old JDM direct from Japan. The new ruling was announced end of last year by MITI. But I can't find it again today. Should've saved the pdf file. I remember it said that car can't be older than 5 years and cannot change name in 3 years. Used to be 2 years. I was planning to buy car and import it using student AP this year and suddenly my agent told me this also. Anybody know much to buy an AP from the AP king if we want to import a car and who's selling them?

What I mean by agent is that a person/company that handles the shipment because I'm planning to buy an AP from the overseas student. I already sold my student AP long time ago and won't qualify anymore. This post has been edited by jamalnsx: Dec 4 2017, 10:28 AM

Essentially removing one of the most important advantage of personal AP....much more cost savings for cars over 5 years old... This post has been edited by BeastX: Dec 23 2017, 09:04 AM

I was thinking of bringing an older Euro Civic when I am going back. No such luck then. This post has been edited by Enkryptron: Dec 24 2017, 08:45 PM

Say I am buying a brand new car that's not sold in Malaysia, buying it thru the overseas dealer. Does it fall under AP?

That's what's implied with "Any".... until the new gov changes the terms or do away with AP all together... Personal AP: Free, Commercial AP:~RM10k or more... Hi guys, i know miti now only allow cars less than 5 yrs old to be imported back to Malaysia, but is it possible just to bring back older car even tho we dont intend to use it on the road? Does it fall under AP or just car parts (i need to dismantle the car before bring it here?)
Ive got a honda oddysey rb1 here in NZ which is in really good cond. Bought it really cheap here. Wanted to bring it back after finish study and use it as a donor car as i am thinking of buying a similar model in msia when im back. You guys know lah our used car dealer most of the time will cheat the actual cond of the car they sell. Thought of getting the cheapest i can get in msia, and change all parts with the donor car.
Anyway, it such letdown that miti now limit the AP to 5yrs old and less car.. Most cars (at least here in NZ) is still in good cond even tho more than 10yrs old. They got WoF (warrant of fitness) check every year here, 20x better than puspakom checks. Malaysia used car mmg hopeless la.. Too much scam.
