HI,

I'm an expert working here in KL. I would like to import my old car to malaysia from Italy. Mercedes sport coupe CDI 220
Year of purchase 2000. Purchase price was around 30,000 euro which will be around 135,000 MYR.
Can anyone help me to calculate everything that i need to pay?
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi hi, I read that most of you are talking about importing a car from overseas, but how about from Labuan/Langkawi?

the FOB will be base on RM or Japan Yen?
*
Unfortunately, car dealers in Labuan/Langkawi are also not being honest enough.
They could profit around 20k-100k by selling one car in there because they have lubang to get cheap imported cars while customers don't know much but buying all those crappy reconditioned cars from them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Btw i wanna ask how much does the tax cost if I'd import a car from Essex, UK to Langkawi?

Car price - GBP 85,000
Engine capacity : 3.8L

Please pm me if anyone of you know any details about how to , thank you very much notworthy.gif

Not sure about japan.. but I'm preatty sure there are a few wanting to sell their AP in uk...

But do bear in mind that I heard that the car nust be in ownership 9 months before they can ship it over back to this boleh land..

So, if you want to buy AP from someone you dont know, its a bit of a risk as you will only get the car after 9 months ( if you get the car )...

Besides that, deoending on custom regulation at that time, and who signed of the vehicle, the vehicle might nit be abke to tranfer ownership on paper for four years...

Dont know whether this info is correct... or whether this info is just bullcrap... but I did not read through all 77 pages and though this might be some good information...

The tax will be based of the depreciated price of the vehicle from the original price when manufactured.....

Example: A car that you got for FREE has a value that can be taxed.
