Hello everyone here,Merry Christmas! Wao,edmin you pc and lappie are really impressive can let other ppl feel like new dual core. I guess you should be having the minimum programs installed on your pc and lappie. @fylon,my DVD sunno why maybe it doesn't want to serve me anymore.Haha,i will try to get other copy to install and see. @kahloon,i found that the ATI drivers not really good compare to nVidia drivers.I feel nVidia is very much more stable than ATI in overclocking.

QUOTE(edministrator @ Dec 25 2007, 12:39 AM) 10Q. bro raymond, your DVD is lanun copy or COPIED in chaplak DVD? If so, it is not rare case. DVD dye might be cheapo ones and the substance easily distorted and make your data corrupted. That's why most people that plays safe would go for branded or reputable DVDR, such as Mitsubishi dye. Try Verbatim and Mitsubishi DVDRs, top notch quality and long lasting for data storage. ATI drivers served me well all these while, so I guess everyone's experience is different. ATI vs Nvidia overclocking cannot be compared apples to apples. All depends on luck and manufacturer component quality. Added on December 25, 2007, 12:42 amWhat problem you have? I would stick to ori drivers, modded driver are nothing but some inf setting tweaks only. Your problem might be driver version related. Previously I was unable to run Gears of War and UT3, will crash often until I updated from 163->169 series. Remember to uninstall your previous drivers before installing the new ones, because there might have conflicts by direct installation on top of old drivers. My DVD are bought from shop one,but ahem type.I don't know what DVD brand are they using. Nevermind, later i will get another copy for myself. @Redundant,your psu is a bit low in the power.Try to get at least 300w for your whole system.

@fylon,don't simply flash the bios of the GC.If flashed wrongly can caused your GC dies one.I guess the 7300GT is par with 6600GT in term of performance?

UT3 requires nVidia driver to drive on?Why this UT3 is so special?try to use back nVidia driver if you want to play the game. Now the newer driver supports the overclocking menu too!

@fylon,last time i was also flashing my 5900 to 5900 ultra bios.It was sweet. My 3D mark 03 can get 6.5k+ with proc o/c to 3.2GHz.Last time the nVidia control have to use coolbit to enable the registry to see o/c panel.Right now is more easier,if you download the nVidia driver + it control panel then it will display on the screen already.

QUOTE(ReaperOfSoul @ Dec 29 2007, 11:49 AM) Ive just started running at 3.2ghz . But prime failed . I think my memory is giving the problem.. Looks like i have to revert back to 3.0ghz. Btw ..my system always run at 65C even though i dont oc it ler . If the system reach 66C then only the fan will move faster . So i guess overclocking wont do much difference? Edit: Its an asrock board . Asrock P4i65G . Doesnt allow me to change vcore ... Maybe your proc is limiting on the overclocking.Other than prime,do you use the 3.2GHz to run on applications ? @fylom,kabu,herojack41 & pengster, now the topic become thermal paste discussion already.THe thread seems like growing fast,i was away for 2 day and now turn to page 62 already.1 more day count down for year 2008. Our S478 thread is going to grow in new year.

@herojack41 ,air flow is quite important to cool down the temperature.Well,do you put a fan to blow into casing?

My casing is even worse, the exhaust fan when put on air coming out from the casing is too small. Those holes on the exhaust part are too small until it blocks the air way out.Maybe i plan to get one new casing in sometime this year.Right now my solution is just open up both sides of the panel.

Sometimes the PSU might behave that way then later on it will be normal,i happened on my previous PSUs. I also don't know why the current will leak and sometimes no problem.

QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Jan 3 2008, 10:37 AM) hmm... really weird..... i afraid that the components will get spoiled. i dont think its normal la. raymond, yours now still having this problem?? QUOTE(edministrator @ Jan 3 2008, 10:56 AM) grounding, always check the grounding! 1st check would be your main power cord & main powerpoint. If using AVR, check the AVR grounding. @kabu,my psu currently got no problem. It was happened long long time ago. @edmin,it cna't deny that it wasn't the grounding issue but by changing power cord also will be the same.I think is the PSU itself sometimes leaking somewhere.

I think that guy was trying to joke here. I never seen a 2 pin plug on PSUs even on the older model. If no grounding on those PSUs once short, bye bye to youself. Never take your life to play against with current.
