Unlesss you’re buying a used at Axia Rahman prices it’s a non starter and what kind of margin are used car dealers making at those prices? Is it worthwhile for them or the banks? And is there an ecosystem ready to maintain and repair these old EV?

EV fanboys say charge time can relax, makan makan and stretch legs. Nothing about needing to move the car when it is their turn to charge and move again after the charging is done to avoid idle charges.

I believe there will be sufficient expertise to maintain EV then. I am setting a personal goal of 5 years for the infra and technology to be sufficiently mature for me to consider an EV. As for banks/used car dealers, I suppose that once there are sufficient cars on the secondary market, they must adapt and accept. Margins wise, I cannot say as it is towards the future. But I believe that EV or HEV are the future. We cannot stop the progress of these technologies.

I’m already driving a hybrid and I bought it because it was a better drive than the petrol version. Haha
Now hav8bg gotten used to quiet glide of Ev mode and enhanced range, my next car will still be a hybrid.

I do believe for now, hybrids are a better option until EV tech and infrastructure are more mature. No worries about range anxieties or at remote areas, the charger is down or cannot get lines to pay through phones. I think some EV you tubers (the malay chap with long hair and a little hippie look) experience that before on way to east coast.

Heck even my Q8 Etron friend doesn’t have charger at home. Just charges at work for free. Haha
He was going to keep his old Suv as second car but being a conti it cost too much to repair.
So he bought a hybrid conti instead.

And he also said he wouldn’t take the Etron outstation.Competing charging networks not compatible, Queues to get charging lines and potentially chargers being OOO at the wrong time.

Possible also cos he owns and experiences the range anxieties from an EV, for long distances. I do not own any EV but I know I will have range anxieties when travelling long distances. And if it takes 30 mins to re-charge, I don’t have the patience to wait at some charging stations (sometimes can be remote areas, too). Usually I just stop for 5 mins for toilet breaks. Seldom fill petrol on highway petrol stations. But there are also a lot of good stories from the EV owners about their ownership. So it all depends on individuals decision.

Some EV fanboys like to inflate how long they stop at RnR, i myself don’t take longer than 15 minutes to take a pre and get a drink. If EV have to Q to charge then wait for charging to be done easily an hour because the Q is unpredictable and also waiting for the car in the charger to clear if the owner is not on hand will add to the wait time. Even on a normal weekend. Never mind a long weekend like this.

Bodo spend more than a day on the road jus to balik kampung. 🤣
