mazda is in a weird position. T and H not just brand loyalty, but they are targeting different customers. those who looking for fuel saving, practical daily car (those are what they sell most). Mazda on the other hand like what u say, ppl maybe buy it for say "drive better", yes, still fuel saving, but they lose out on spaciousness of the interior and the confortness on uneven road due to suspension is aim "to drive better". then there are also tech stuff they missing out. as ppl age, their priority change, they may opt for more spacious and comfort related cars.

an for new gen, there is now option like EV and etc around those price range, can the car market is more dynamic with diff manufacturer having car aim for different markets.

in a land where city and vios dominate in B segment, complete with ADAS below 100k mark, they decided to put their mazda 2, above 100k and WITHOUT ADAS . THeir main selling point is , "drives better", "a driver's car" or those crap .

they are dreaming if normies want to buy it .

Mazda 2 is seriously a joke. So outdated and still only comes with fucking 2 airbags in 2025. Imagine 2 airbags in 2025??? They even priced it more expensive than the city and vios. How to compete?

I notice most of the Mazda buyers in the past are Chinese, after Chery and GWM masuk and start CKD their SUV, their price is much cheaper and all the potential buyer sway away from Mazda
