During the late night and after the rain, I'm constantly disturbed by the 'ouk' sound of a frog making every eight seconds. It's probably sitting in the big drain next to my neighbor's backyard of his terrace house and it bothers me from time to time. How can I deal with this? Do I have to catch it myself? How do I catch it?

I find it bothersome when it happens almost every late night. I can still hear it even when I close my window.

Do you have cats in the area? Since I have a cat at home, no longer hear frogs as they are being chased .

need to check the drains as well , maybe there's shrubs or light source that attracts insects and hence attract the frog .

berudu (offspring of frog) will live in drain that have water , to avoid this , need your drain to be either flowing fast or completely empty (no water). need to check if there is anything blocking your drains .

its a collective issue , so best bet is to discuss with your neighbour .

If I read u correctly, the big drain is not in yr neighbor's backyard, rather is it in a public area. Throw rock salt into the big drain upstream of where the "ouk" sounds emanate. Frogs are sensitive to salty water, and this may persuade it to relocate elsewhere, further away from you.

If already adult and over one year old bring her to vet and spay, if no the longer you delay the chance getting breast cancer is higher

Sos
My cat kena before, and vet said chance for coming back is possible , if my cat still have all the strength and condition is okay will bring her for 2nd time breast cancer remover if coming back, but the chance is low to survive for 2nd time due to age according to my vet, so either just leave it like that or bagi tidur if coming back

Tldr
If can bring her and spay

Question 1 ... Is the frog on public area?

Question 2 ... Is your neighbor also trying to get rid of the frogs?

Be honest cause my solution will cause neighbor to react very differently if they are frog friendly.

1. I hear the sound of a frog coming from my big drain
2. I don't talk to my neighbour often

What is your solution?

I found the frog species which is banded bullfrog and it is pretty common in Malaysia. Here's an example of the noise it makes:

Banded bullfrog (Kaloula pulchra) singing. Malaysia, 2017

Use a small net the type found in aquarium shops or a long grabber used to pick up rubbish type.

When you catch it, throw the frog far away from your your house otherwise it will come back.

buy a bottle of cheap vinegar (those that isn't for consumption) put them on spray, then spray the side of the wall or place that frog use to hang out especially non moving puddle .... it will take sometime and you have to spray those spots for like two weeks ... useless to spray on moving water, but usually frog touch side wall or camp at place with a puddle. What it does is the moist wet spot that has vinegar will burn their skin so they won't be comfortable staying at that spot. And 2nd it will affect their tadpole causing them to become smaller and smaller to the point that they are no bigger then the size of a pea.

The slightly unfortunate part is because you share longkang with others so even if your spot is clean or your neighbour spot is clean the next few section down the line the frog can still migrate there and you may have less noise but there will still be noise ........ unless you go buy a few bottle and spray the whole line.

Reason why I know is because my place got pond and raining season always can hear a lot of them singing ..... a kampung friend teach me how to deal with them.

Ts ask for solution. I give one. This aren't natural ecosystem either. Develop area have to deal with snakes, giant lizards if frogs and smaller vermin are allowed to breed. You may embrace nature but not everyone is at the same standard. That is the choice and right of every individual. I only give options. I don't judge.

I wouldn't say it's an absolution solution cause it's still depend on your Surroundings. If your long Kang easy flood with heavy rain water and get wash frequently then it's a little bit harder to get rid of them as long as the spray area is constantly getting wash.

But if it's around your house especially puddles or spots that allow your vinegar to sit it's pretty much sure that at least 3 generations of frog won't be around. I always do it when raining season is coming. Roughly once a year.

So the vinegar spray that sits there can last for a year and it works for you? Can you recommend the vinegar you’re using?

Artificial Vinegar from jaya grocer, brand prob yeo's. 99 mart also got. When I started I spray everyday for two weeks to make sure they don't come back, then after a long while I just spray at place that they might be around like twice a week for two weeks if I hear them outside, this days I just spray once when I know raining season is coming and only twice for a week then I hear no sound until next year raining season.

Better not, there are some species you might not be aware but their blood or skin have a certain type of fungus if come in contact with your skin could stick around for a very long time. My relative step on one once and it took him about a year of constant med change on his foot and even after recover has mark between the toes.

Yeah already one step ahead, I killed it with a machete I figured it could have been poisonous... There are even some species that shoots out some fluid through their eyes or mouth to deter predators. Heard it can blind you permanently if it enters your eyes.

Brand doesn’t matter right? As long as it is artificial vinegar.

I found the source of the frog noise. I think it is either in the grass opposite my neighbor’s backyard or in the drain at the end which is full of rubbish. I can’t do anything about it since i don’t speak to my neighbor. My neighbor seems not to care about it.

put hand into plastic bag wear it like a glove, grab the froggy, then flip out the plastic bag n tie it up with the froggy inside, simple n effective......then next morning go release it at the big longkang at the end of the road
