As in there is no exit border control you go through TSA and check ticket and ID like a domestic departure.

But if u are on wanted list for criminal offences then they can deny your boarding

Its usually agent that will appear at the gate or airlines staff dont let you onboard. Its airline themselves that check if you are a wanted criminal

He’s talking out of his a$$. Afaik, only the Income Tax Act 1967 and Bankruptcy/Insolvency Act 1967 expressly provide for the power to bar a citizen from leaving Malaysia.

If he brings this case to the court, the immigration would definitely be instructed to uplift the travel ban for infringing a citizen’s right under Article 5(1) of the Federal Constitution.
