However, Lavender Bakery Malaysia also clarified that they are not halal-certified by JAKIM.

“We would like to assure everyone that the ingredients we used, such as butter, oil, cheese, and sausage, are sourced from Halal-certified suppliers.â€

“Any comments that claimed our products contained alcohol are untrue. We do not use any alcohol in the baking.â€

Lavender Bakery Malaysia also said that they are operating under the “No pork, no lard, no alcohol†policy.

unlikely. if bake more than 1 hour roti also hangus already

Many factors impact the final alcohol content of homemade recipes. How long the dish is cooked at the boiling point of alcohol (173 degrees Fahrenheit) is a big factor (source: USDA Table of Nutrient Rentention Factors, Release 6:

Time Cooked at Boiling point of alcohol Approximate Amount of Alcohol Remaining
15 minutes 40 percent

big hoo haa because of haLOL

just because a restaurant, pastry shop, bakery shop or whatever shit shop didn't put big big LEL logo at the front = don't automatically assume it's halal

even those mamak that people usually go, I can guarantee you half of them aren't even certified halal, some staffs even touched cooked fried chicken with BARE FCKING HAND AND SERVE IT TO CUSTOMERS, saw it with my own eyes

if so concerned about halal status, go check the shop/website before buying, nuff said, if buy then only question then jialat lo

Doesnt mean sinkie muslim is right. Its their fate in the afterlife.. We follow the holy book, not the person/individual.

Bakeries, skip it when overseas.

And do your own due diligence, if you suspect its a fake halal sign, skip again. Always ask what the ingredients are.

Thats also a reason why we bring packed ready to eat meals from Malaysia.

Also now so many online resource/guides to halal places anywhere in the world, fb group also banyak. No reason to pretend dont know how to search..

here is AI source

When baking or simmering with alcohol at 250 Celsius (482 Fahrenheit), the amount of alcohol that evaporates depends on the cooking time. After 15 minutes, about 75% of the original alcohol remains, and after 30 minutes, roughly 65% remains. Even after longer cooking times, some alcohol will still be present, with about 10% remaining after two hours.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
15 minutes: Approximately 60% of the original alcohol remains.
30 minutes: Around 65% of the original alcohol remains.
1 hour: About 75% of the original alcohol remains.
2 hours: Around 90% of the original alcohol remains.

your life your choice i guess if you chose to travel like that
everybody follows the book...nobody is holier than you are all because of that

but all i can say is no other places on earth do halal as extreme as us until i saw and wonder how these people travel outside of malaysia
because no muslim our neighboring countries are as strict as us in their country or when they travel...only us

but at the same time, i also saw we have the most contradictory people on earth...priortize the cert so much but road side no cert - support
cross over to thailand...7-11 is like a must go every night before go back hotel doh.gif

so the shop never actually said it was halal rite?

say if I am allergic to peanut, I would think it is my responsibility to ask if a dish or cake I am eating has peanuts or not right?

Doesnt mean sinkie muslim is right. Its their fate in the afterlife.. We follow the holy book, not the person/individual.

Bakeries, skip it when overseas.

And do your own due diligence, if you suspect its a fake halal sign, skip again. Always ask what the ingredients are.

Thats also a reason why we bring packed ready to eat meals from Malaysia.

Also now so many online resource/guides to halal places anywhere in the world, fb group also banyak. No reason to pretend dont know how to search..

So please explain why, if unsure, eat first then only later get angry like they were forced or cheated?

There is a concept of permissible % of alcohol level in food (further breakdown for naturally occurring vs not, finished product vs ingredients, etc.) when it comes to halal restriction.

The naturally occurring guideline covers the food ingredients with naturally occurring alcohols as part of the production process like soy sauce, vinegar, some fruits, etc.
They generally don't have a high enough alcohol content to intoxicate even at massive amounts consumed.

here is AI source

Alcohol doesn't automatically evaporate off when you cook it or boil it. Alcohol forms constant-boiling mixture with water.

Otherwise, in the making of isopropyl alcohol, they don't have to use azeotropic distillation to separate water from alcohol. If alcohol can be boiled off from water, they would have used simple fractionation by boiling off the alcohol from the mixture.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA):
This system provides a standardized way to write down how words are pronounced, with each symbol representing a distinct sound. It's used by linguists, phoneticians, and anyone interested in accurately representing speech sounds.
India Pale Ale (IPA):
This is a type of beer known for its high hop content, which gives it a distinctive bitter and aromatic flavor. It's often brewed with higher alcohol content than other beer styles.
Other, less common uses:
International Photography Awards (IPA): An annual photography competition according to their website.
Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA): A professional body for advertising practitioners.

They dont know what is fermentation , quran written by 7 century people dont know what is fermentation and what it produced.

Thats why tapai - fermented durian

Can be eaten. Quran no say cannot.

Dna babi, they powderful know how to use modern scientifics methods to find. But but but fermentation products and by product
They confuse abit, want follow modern science or not?
If follow modern science, all hell break lose.

All alcohol that is haram in this world is produce through fermentation except for hard liqours which use distillation of alcohol (which was obtain through fermentation process)

Owaii, not all alcohol is haram, the hand sanitizer isnt haram alcohol. I know, its confusing.

Tapai contain 5% alcohol, same alcohol content as beer, can be consume, absolutely halal.
Wine use in cooking, cannot be consume, absolutely haram?
This logic how to brain? Very hard to brain.

Anyone remember The Loaf bakery in which Mamakthir had a hand in it? Can't recall if it ever had a halal cert, but I had seen that fella and his wife eating at the Pavilion KL outlet. And the signboard had no BM in it. Hypocrite much, yes.

If you know some T10 Malay, this is quite true.

Of cos not all of them will high profile eat pork drink alcohol, but frankly they don’t give a F about the halal stuff.

Play with dogs, eat at wine serving restaurant, food cook with cooking wine not a problem.

But now its like even if a restaurant do not have halal cert, then they need another certificate and logo telling people that they are not halal certified?

drink beer cannot, sure i can understand but eat a bit of alcohol will die is it. how much time and energy is wasted on pursuing things to the extremes?

FYI, the Malaysian halal industry contributes approximately 6-7% of Malaysia's GDP, totaling RM54 billion in 2023. Definitely not a wasted industry.

unlikely. if bake more than 1 hour roti also hangus already

30 minutes 35 percent
One hour 25 percent
Two hours 10 percent
Two and one-half hours 5 percent
*
While that might be so, you are not using full grain 100% alcohol here. Wine typically contains 8 to 13% only. Whatever is left is negligible after cooking.

The process of making bread also has come alcohol from the yeast fermentation.

As with medication.

How many actually get intoxicated eating alcohol infused bread and cakes?

why making a hoo haa sgt?

is a bakery

the most important thing to know, whether do they use any lard/pork material or not?

there are few restaurant source halal material but unable to obtain the cert due to presence of alcohol.

hence, JAKIM need to step-up and support those people,

i remember got suggestion to develop separate cert for those having this issue

1. Food is halal but serve alcohol.

lupa ke, our national airlines although their food halal, they still serve alcohol..

Lavender bakery cafe is one of my preferred spots for tea time when going dating because they got combo deals which is pretty good (RM20 for any drink + chicken baguette).

If this means more empty table for me, then I'm happy grin.gif

ok, i stand corrected. maybe there is a huge market. if not for the pursuit of strict halalness, there is no point in having a halal industry at all and Malaysia's halal industry is understood to be 'world class', widely accepted by other muslim countries.

In a Threads post by @hazirahanapi, she shared a screenshot of a comment that claimed one of the employees told a customer that the cakes contained wine. The customer was there to get a birthday cake, and she was informed by the employee who attended to her.

A Facebook post by Amin Shukor also went viral for the same matter and has caused concerns among Muslim consumers who frequent the bakery.

Lavender Bakery Malaysia also clarified that they are not halal-certified by JAKIM.
