all SPM school leavers regardless whether they have plans for tertiary education or not.. should seek and try out temp jobs related to the frontlines ... and fast food / coffee franchise offering tons of such opportunities.

this is to expose themselves to the reality of adulthood and various behaviours of humans/customers . Learning to handle them will be an added soft skill when they moved on further years later working in white collar jobs /office environment especially .

last time used to work as barista there then RGM told me whether want me to accept offer to become GEL because good CS, I declined because at that time about to change different career already

but if punch in sharp 7am punch out 3pm + come in work late go out work fast + don't give a f about CS with dead face macam squidward, definitely you will be sticking at 1700 for years lol, maybe just that small increment few cents/hour by default.

to be honest those tvet grads at least can do job one lah

dunno if it's still the same 5 years ago and today's standard, sometimes they change policy every year

last time when I work, used to be like this:

4 hours shift -> any happymeal small size 1 set
8 hours shift -> any standard meal 1 set from mcchicken/fillet o fish/double cheese, not included in premium burgers like spicy deluxe and big mac
12 hours shift -> ^ 1 small + 1 standard

set consists of burger+fries+drink. if work during big promo period then can take the promo burger -> because want to clear the promo item stock, e.g. prosperity burger. You don't wanna have the promo item still have in your freezer when the promo period already finished and not supposed to be selling it.

if you are manager then you can pick the premium burgers for break

Yes inhouse paid for upskilling and management training as part of career progression is the same as forking out for an expensive degree from your own or mom and pops pocket.


Kids that are starting out, parents who have kids that will start their post SPM career, this here an example of why degree isnt a be all end all. If end of the day you're ceiling is a anonymous white collar exec with nothing to show for professionally except for winning the internet in /k and you cost your mom and pop a bomb to fund your studies, working your way up a TVET job is way more respectable. It isnt smooth sailing but nothing in life worth having is easy to get. And it isnt doom and gloom as some ppl here and in other threads have shared

And remember, use the example above as a warning for yourself (or your kids). This is the floor your should avoid. It isnt hard to achieve higher
