Had a chance to drive this, damn sweet ride, but I was told by owner cost an arm and a leg to maintain. How much, I wouldn't know but the acceleration, its like a freaking fighter jet, whether running on Hybrid (eDrive MAX) or ICE.

The downside, the petrol tank and the battery capacity is very small. If you go full on SAVE mode for eDrive, and you are heavy on acceleration i think 3 days already half tank gone?

Full tank is about RM 80, for EV charge (ac 22kw charger) is about RM 5+ to full. Full battery charge can only last for about 30km.

If go on eDrive Save and Economy mode, you can quickly recharge the battery with regenerative breaking especially going down hill.

Conclusion: fund to drive but too much hassle to monitor petrol and battery usage. If the battery finished, your petrol can go down really fast like within 2-3 days you have to go and pump petrol again.

It's a 6+ seconds 0-100 acceleration car.. PAW TAN article mentioned the malaysian market one is rated at low 6s *ahem /2017/01/08/driven-bmw-330e-review/, but i tried the 330e and felt much closer to high6 to 7sec acceleration car.

I remember when this car was introduced, one of the most budget friendly yet looks "expensive" - 250k~, searching that article above confirms what i recalled.

For a similar priced 250k+ car, a Golf R is a more correct representation of taking off like a fighter jet, at below 4 seconds, which is crazy because a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series in Malaysia is also doing 3~ sec 0-100, but comes at the price tag of 3mil.

there are some ppl did the hybrid delete on 330e (of course the power become like 320i or even lesser than that) unless u replace with other engine like inline 6

but of course we wont know what will happen in the long run and worth the hassle or not

deswai the fb group for f series owners are called THE RUSTED JACKETS lol
nanti batt failure lol

The reason why the group is called rusted jacket is due to rust build up under the front seats. Apparently they didnt apply antirust on the seat base in the early models from 2012-2013

Mine is 2015, no such issue

Sticky door pull is unacceptable though, but its just a <100 bucks fix for all 4 doors

I'm still running a 2009 E60, ok jer. It had a slow coolant leak, which I found out is actually from a leaky overflow hose. Cheap fix

I did had a 5 figure repair bill on the E60's gearbox, but that's due to bmw's stupid advise of "lifetime transmission fluid". Expensive lesson

Also had a 2015 F30, which also leaked coolant. The overflow tank bleeding screw sudah reput.

Having said that, both ada oil leaks and can be fixed by changing valve cover + gasket

Recently added a G20 to my collection, so far still too new to tell. But from both older cars, you can tell its due to bmw's way of running the engine at 110c

Will probably reprogram the G20 to run at 90-100c once the warranty runs out

if u notice all running the same symptom since the E series

oh yes, their lifetime transmission fluid term only applicable if the car send to the junkyard after the 7th years onwards lulz
