QUOTE(kopitiamtardx @ May 28 2025, 07:50 AM) Seems like there is a connection: Till now, there is no connection.1) High dividend for 2024 2) More people are investing voluntarily into the fund 3) Increase the retirement age So we can only withdraw after 65 years old?? EPF is EPF. Suggest "Increase the retirement age" is another matter. And you don't look back the history between the 2. For example, the retire age is already raise from 55 to 60. But EPF remains the same rule for the withdrawal at 55. Nothing has changed till today. |

Not enough fully employed young ppl to contribute. The danger is the older folks who got in early now have millions when they retire in another 10-15 yes and withdraw all will impact.
Also EPF is needed to support bursa. |

If people are voluntarily contributing to EPF, means confidence in EPF is good no?

If I'm not mistaken, EPF already moved 50% of their funds from oversea investment into local GLC as instructed by PMX since September 2024
I think less than 5% this year |

You know EPF is in trouble when the government tells you DON'T WITHDRAW money. |

EPF is not in trouble.
But when minister make a big hooha about increasing retirement age to 65 years old, it will indirectly effect EPF in the future. Right now, you can make full withdrawal at 55 years old based on EPF website. In the future? We don't know. Ktards boomers here don't care, because they are near retirement age. That's why they can talk rubbish, cakap besar. Because it doesn't affect them. It will affect future generation, especially Gen Y and above. You see on year 2023, there's a major protest when French gov wants to increase retirement age from 62 to 64. People disagreed with that. Our government wants to propose increase from 60 to 65 years old. The major differences are so ridiculous. You want to work until you death, go ahead. I don't want and I want my full money once I reach 55 years old. |
