QUOTE(30624770 @ May 27 2025, 04:22 PM) Unlike traditional electric vehicles (EVs) that store electricity in batteries, FCEVs generate electricity on the go through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. This process produces water vapor as a byproduct, resulting in zero tailpipe emissions. And the hydrogen comes from where? Just do a search and you will get the answer. It's from fossil industry.

QUOTE(vhs @ May 27 2025, 04:12 PM) Why Toyota sendiri does not invest? Brazil ada, India ada, Indonesia ada, Vietnam ada. Their worry is, now invest, once enter the market, China can rapidly manufacture and deploy cheaper alternatives. No country in the world can match China in this alone. It is a real worry, unfortunately this capitalist world

QUOTE(Matchy @ May 27 2025, 05:46 PM) I think toyota are too slow... China is do first, think later. If doesn't work, just scrap it. China has no choice because ICE already dominated by a few major companies Their only option is to give alternatives like EV and hydrogen

QUOTE(Wedchar2912 @ May 27 2025, 04:13 PM) The hydrogen comes mainly from fossil fuels also rite? No. Hydrolysis. Using electricity to turn water that is H2O and separate H2 from O. So in sarawak with hydropower we can convert h2o to hydrogen This post has been edited by Avangelice: May 27 2025, 05:42 PM

QUOTE(30624770 @ May 27 2025, 04:13 PM) China got government backup It is government job to give direction and support it China doing so well on this until others claim it is distorting market by subsidy Well competition with subsidy is better than close door policy out of fear of competition. QUOTE(Mixxomon @ May 27 2025, 04:14 PM) Toyota has vested interest in keeping ICE structure because they own or JV most of the supply chains, especially on the engine and drive train parts. If they go EV the whole engine and drive train companies can close shop dy. But nobody can stop the technology progress..... Living in past glory won't be sustainable Solar + EV = Cost saving plus environment friendly Some ktard do so

QUOTE(Avangelice @ May 27 2025, 05:41 PM) No. Hydrolysis. Using electricity to turn water that is H2O and separate H2 from O. So in sarawak with hydropower we can convert h2o to hydrogen That is what I thought in the beginning. But the vast majority of hydrogen supplies are being produced relying on fossil fuel. This just what Google said. Green hydrogen? Super small supply.
