🔹 Legal Marriage Age for Non-Muslims in Johor


Males: Must be at least 18 years old to marry.

Females:

The standard minimum age is 18 years.

However, females aged 16 or 17 may marry only with a special license granted by the Chief Minister (Menteri Besar) of Johor.




No marriage is permitted for non-Muslims under the age of 16, regardless of circumstances.



📝 Application Process for Special License (Females Aged 16–17)



Application Submission:

The couple must apply for a special marriage license using form JPN.KC01E.

This application is submitted to the National Registration Department (NRD).


Approval:

The Chief Minister of Johor reviews the application and has the discretion to grant or deny the license.

Fees:

A fee of RM10.00 is charged upon approval of the special license.



Marriage Registration:

Once the license is granted, the couple must proceed to register the marriage in accordance with the procedures set by the NRD.
