QUOTE Azalina urges govt to study raising retirement age to 65PUTRAJAYA: Law and institutional reform minister Azalina Othman Said has proposed that the government study extending the retirement age to 65, saying many people remain active and capable well into their 60s. She said this was her personal opinion based on her observation and current social trends. “Some of the officers we met are still very young, very active, even though they are already 60 years old. “It would be a waste (to let them go). They can still do the work,” she said after presenting excellent service and retirement awards to staff at a ceremony held at a hotel here today. She said the number of Malaysians aged over 60 is increasing, and many of them still appear youthful and energetic. https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...ement-age-to-65 I wanted to open this topic today, then this news came out. Just nice. We really need to raise retirement age to 63 cos many of our ppl need jobs n many continue to find jobs to work. I see many of my workers n colleagues retired, very bored, and we keep engaging them to come back for our audits n projects. What do u think? I see there are lazy bones in Malaysia who think Malaysia is richer than Germany or Canada etc. If rich and powerful nations like Germany retires at 67 and Canada and Australia retires at 65. And they think Malaysian should retire at 60?

One study distinguishes the young-old (60 to 69), the middle-old (70 to 79), and the very old (80+).[20] Another study's sub-grouping is young-old (65 to 74), middle-old (75 to 84), and oldest-old (85+).[21] A third sub-grouping is young-old (65 to 74), old (74 to 84), and old-old (85+).[22] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_age#:~:te...d%2Dold%20(85+). In many societies, the term " senior citizen" or "elderly" is commonly used for individuals aged 65 and over, according to the National Institutes of Health. Ya, should up d retirement age to 65 yo thou private sector x fixed retirement age…My big boss into his 80s still healthy n having fun working!
