Looks like a lot of replies here feel the cancer rate and burden in this country not high enough. Can still throttle the carcinogens into the environment.

Carbon and nuclear storage are totallt diff thing and level wei…
But then im not against nuclear power plant here..
In fact ita good to have advancement, we should have a nuclear power plant..
In fact many do not know Malaysia already have a nuclear research facility for many many years already..

Yes they are different. But waste is still waste. We have problems with trash. Another waste. Dealing with carbon waste. Another thing. Now have to deal with nuke waste.

Our country ain't that big enough. Whats more the reason SEA are chosen to store waste is because we have a lot of trees.

Now imagine you have to clear lots of land to store either carbon or nuke waste. Those things are underground for 100 years. No one would know if it leaks into soil or not.

It's a viable option to address our depleting hydrocarbon resources. Capex is about 10X of solar though.

With nuclear in the picture, we can implement ev better and this will remove one of the biggest source of carcinogens.
The only thing it won't remove is ignorance.

More stupidity  from pmx. Why the hell  we need nuclear when there is palm oil biomass, solar and hydro? Clean and renewable.
Looks like this was decided time ago as the price for Russia to take the blame for mh17.
Incoming:  imported  Chernobyl 2. Which state will be the lucky one.? Hope Penang.

Should join venture with Indonesia and put in Riau Island, in between Peninsular and East Malaysia.

Nuclear is considered as green or clean power generation cause they dont produce carbon. Downside is really need good nuclear waste disposal facilities.

Malaysia being a general safe zone from natural disaster is actually good to have nuclear power plant. Just that Malaysia lack of maintenance culture is the worrying part.

For those always against this would be the same pple who are always against technology and advancement
*
learn from french, their waste disposal is pretty good. the wastes are made into solid blocks
