Cannot compare conti, nanti ktard kecam not good comparison, so must take similarly priced H/TNot really, BMW EV and Mercedes EV drop about 30%+ for the first year. QUOTE(DarkNite @ Apr 28 2025, 07:39 PM) After 10 years EV technology no longer the same. That’s why invest in the company with proper vision.Software & hardware no longer supported. See within these 10 yrs EV from nickel-cadmium to Lithium Ion to lithium iron phosphate to Sodium ion to..... With that mindset, you’ll never own anything even after 10y. 10y later again and again. There is never a perfect time to adopt new technology. |

I doubt the calculation.
The depreciation is very likely non linear which means as it goes closer to battery lifetime, the closer the resale value it is to zero. |

The bulk of the price of the EV is the batteries anyway. The depreciation starts when the battery life starts depleting.

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Apr 29 2025, 12:14 PM) Hope so… now there’s not a lot of competition at that price range / power level yet. If Proton comes up with e.MAS 9 or whatever around that segment, confirm Sealion 7 and Model Y come down in price |

I don't think this statement is accurate.A 10 year old BEV with 50% of the original battery capacity still cost 30% of original car price. I doubt it. |

QUOTE(Drian @ Apr 30 2025, 10:21 AM) Where is the original article. I don't think this statement is accurate. Its still early stage of EV. 1 kwh travel distance is still 5-7km max. A 10 year old BEV with 50% of the original battery capacity still cost 30% of original car price. I doubt it. 2 kwh : 1 litre of petrol average travel distance. Only jimat if charge at own home. The bug difference only will come once solid state battery become cheap and into mass market EVs. The battery weight will go down by 40-50% at same capacity. The lighter weight will improve EV efficiency consumption. Maybe 1 kwh : 1 litre or even more of petrol average distance covered. By then the saving cost even if charge at fast charger outside is still significantly cheaper than petrol. By then EV may be more viable in Msia mass market. For now will remain T20 and upper M40 vehicle. |
