Why Tesla used are still expensive?

Even older models price still maintain

depend on hw, all car world wide, only tesla have futurebility with their camera vision which can enable supervised FSD. no car can do that now, except some china car only selling in china, again, china car maintenance is high. Lidar+Sensor+Camera, genenrally 32 biji before they can enable supervised FSD. so the car is costly as well.

Tesla car get upgraded every month via OTA, big update in Spring and Summer, with added function and capability etc.. so if price drop to low, still worth to own, the rest of EV, no chances to be more capable than before.

One of the comprehensive report from Thai industry research on used BEVs there. Good reference for M'sia

Krungsri

TLDR:
1. Initial depreciation: As soon as a BEV leaves the showroom, it drop -23% of its original list price

2. Mileage: Thai BEVs lose between -5.6% and -9.4% of their value for every 10,000 kilometers that they travel, higher than ICE

3. Country of origin: US and European BEVs, which also typically target the premium market, hold their value better than Chinese, UK, Japan & Korea models

4. Segment: Premium BEVs (i.e., sports and luxury sedan models) and electric vans offer resale values that are 8.9% and 18.6% better than BEV passenger vehicles

5. Year of Manufacture: BEVs depreciate in value by an average of -6.1% for each year that has passed since that model was first released to the market.
