One say disable IPv6, one say enable

In extremely generic and logical term, you must experiment by yourself and validate if either one fits and solves your requirement. Both forumers expressed their opinions and specificity on niche issue.

Bro if you want a piece of information, make sure you able to replicate all the possible answers, which might be available already. Else, why don't you take an effort to get to know by yourself, either by contacting the support team directly? Why others must do for you or be a proxy for you?

Normally, I will liaise with Unifi with or via Facebook. Most of the time, my problem will be solved. Only in some cases, I need to reach them through maya to get know latest available promotions.

Should be that way.. Me if anything directly call tm and they will pass me to department incharge of unifi, if serious matter or else pm thru facebook 😉👀🐝

Not siding with unifi neither do affiliated with them. But I never experienced any downtime, or bad services in terms of customer service. Any form of queries will get reply asap through facebook channel. Even stop subbing my Unifi Air 5G is done via Maya just like that. Just 5 minute process. Everything is done.

The last time technician visited my place when they drop by to change my ONU from Alcatel Lucent (Silver box) to new Nokia ONU (not the standing one) back in 2018. Still using the old config.

Me the last time was last month, no internet connection, then the culprit was unifi box at telephone pole infront of my house, reported to unifi, the next day they come and fixed 🐝
*
As long as the issue was rectified, I have no issue with the provider. The only problem is Public IP for low tier package. Unlike Maxis offering RM10/month for public IP for all speed package, if unifi charges the same, I dont mind paying for it.

Could you elaborate more  on public IP for low tier package ?
I thought if its 500mbps and above, and can get public IP istead of Private IP ?
*
Technically, to get public IP, you need to sub min 500Mbps package (which is uncertain now since more users hop into the package due to promotion - might afraid it will receive the same treatment as 300Mbps users). If your speed below than 500Mbps, you will be assigned with Private IP. Unlike Unifi, Maxis offers RM10/month for public IP regardless if you are a 100Mbps user. If you ask me, If I don't need high tier package, and opt for 100Mbps package, I still can opt to pay RM10/month for public IP. Means there is freedom, but with charge which I don't mind paying. Second, TM is now fully providing ONRs, unlike Maxis or Celcomdigi (they are riding on unifi infra anyway), I still prefer the freedom of using my own devices without compromising the safety or security of my connected device. I am going to register for maxis thou I still have 2 months of contract with unifi.

Allo is charging one time fee, if not my mistaken for Public IP.

Same here, willing to pay if unifi did the same thing 😁🐝

TM offer is the skyworth combo good ?
Or fiber home better ?

I read that this skyworth 2 in 1 is not good, and it's laggy and may not up to 500mbps.

My old setup was ZTE + dlink wifi 5
*
Fiberhome received a lot of complaints. Skyworth I am not sure as the it received mixed reviews. For D-Link B/W, I don't wish to elaborate as there is thread for it, kindly refer to that thread in forum.lowyat > networking and broadbands. The ZTE AX3000 ONR getting slightly positive reviews, but only a few customers get the unit. My advice, stick with the current configuration, by upgrading the router to either Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7. If you planning to upgrade to 500Mbps, the existing config should be fine, especially for the ZTE modem. The D-Link Wi-Fi 5 will be a bottleneck situation for you. If you upgrade to 1G or 2G, then TM will replace the equipments for you. You will get Skyworth 2.5G Black edition. If you are 2Gbps user, you will get the Skyworth BE7200 ONR.

Hmm, gotten the 500mbps and given me the skyworth combo.
But I see that my 2.4 although near to router I only get around 15mbps or lesser but 5ghz can get up to 500mbps.
Any reason why ?
Oh for maxis and celcomdigi you mean they offer modem + router instead of combo?

Compromising safety and security of my devices.
- what do you mean ya? Could you kindly elaborate
On the skyworth combo? Why ? 🤔

Since I am on 500mbps, I should and is public IP then? 😵‍💫
*
For the bold part, refer here

This is a very common complaints of the user using Skyworth ONR (white version). Not sure about the black version thou. Most of the time, rebooting the router will solve the issue. However, if you are using IoT devices that relies on 2.4GHz, then this is bad especially in terms of distance since 2.4GHz has better penetration power compared to 5GHz.

As for the devices, so far, AFAIK, providers like Maxis, Celcomdigi, UHome Fiber, Allo is giving standalone units.

For Unifi and TIME, they giving ONRs, but TIME's ONR is much more better than what Unifi provides. I saw one of my client using TIME's Wi-Fi 6 ONR has 128 days of uptime. There is no problem with accessing internet, and able to utilise max subscribed speed like charm.

For now i just tested, all lower end device able to connect to 2.4ghz, as for now still okay,
even my old laptop last time 1.1mbps (100mbps), now 30mbps (500mbps0 can watch show.

i am thinking what else can I make changes..
Or any that i can recommend ??
I using quad9 dns, feel slightly faster than google tho. (correct me if i am wrong, or can suggest other better dns)

by the way, how to check public and private ip ya?
i checked my ipconfig cmd , under ipv4 is 192.
but using whatismyip website getting 42xxxx ??

the below is the best i can get from router

user posted imagez

whats the below 11 81 and 12 right ?
as per color, i thinking 11 is the ping 11ms, but why for 81 is download (where it show is 347) , and 12 for upload ( where it show is 109)??
*
You are asking good question. Easy. You can refer your IP at this site, then compare the IP shown in your router. Not the 192.168.x.x. If you are on 500Mbps package, then most likely you are assigned with Public IP, well atleast for now.

Its been ongoing for quite often and dayys, any config that i need to set ? (If i forget 2.4, once 5ghz disconnect, I straight no wifi connections)

This will be bit technical for you. But what you can do, you can provide the following question for me or any of the forumers to address your issue.

1. Your house type? (landed / highrise)
2. If your house is landed, is it single or double-storey? (if your house is highrise, ignore Question 2)
3. Optical Network Router (ONR) location?
4. What devices do you have problem with in accordance to your write up?
5. Did you tried to replicate the issue with other devices?
6. How good are you to carry out basic troubleshooting if guided correctly by fellow forumers?

Something wrong is going on with my connection

Its so slow when loading website but speed as usual 500mbps and ping is normal when playing video games

Rebooting my router helps but the problem will come back within a few hours

If you are using the new config, aka combo modem+wifi unit, then best bet is to do basic troubleshooting of the problem you are experiencing. Like how bro blacktubi recommended, replicate the issue if only one device is experiencing the issue.

Next, you need to state what config of network setup you are using now, either standalone unit (old), or the combo unit (new). Since you are partaking in Unifi discussion, I assume you are using unifi.

Take note:
1. Fiberhome ONR reported the most to have problem with stability.
2. Skyworth (white) ONR reported with having wifi issues, and rebooting solves the issue based on the complaints I received from my clients.

You are not required to invest on a third party router, just troubleshoot, narrow down the issue, replicate the occurance with other devices, then customization can take place. Then you can validate if appropriate investment required to purchase a new router. Again, it depends on your use case. I don't say the equipments given by the ISP are crap, most of the time it is no good in terms of security, and features. Those days, Unifi's stock router like DIR-615 shipped with tons of features, the famouse Innacom / Innatech has one of the best features built-in, the Archer C5 is one of the best supplied by TM, also the famous DIR-842 - ability to flash direct to Openwrt (need to see hw revision). Now, they are locking down their own equipments by providing basic, and nearly non-functional features.

The most recent units given by Unifi was FiberHome SR1041F (some forumer posted the vulnerability of this unit) & SR104Y was decent, except for how lousy the UI of the router compared to DIR-X3060Z by D-Link.
