Thanks for the tips. Now I need to get ONT authentication code.
I never know need a code for ONU, wondering how to get the code? Call Unifi? Ask the technician who just setup for my new Combo Box?
How to identifiy that my IP is public or Private?
Each time router reboot, I'll get new IP = Is public?
*
TM came installed new ONR for my 1 Gb plan. I asked him to configure it to bridge mode, it didn't work, so I asked him to do normal installation and ask for the GPON credentials so that I can try it later. It appears that it was connected to Wan port instead of Lan 1 port, it worked after I switched. So you can ask nicely ๐Ÿ˜„

Dynamic IP is dynamically assigned IP addresses. Static IP means that IP reserved for you, always get the same IP. These apply to public and private IP addresses. You have to pay static public addresses, available for biz plan.

If you have no issue with TM, you wonโ€™t have issue with Maxis too. Iโ€™m using both TM and Maxis, no problem at all. Three years with Maxis and still counting, not once Maxis is called to fix anything.
*
Correct. Normally don't need worry too much. Unifi customer do have priority in their own infra. I had fiber issue 3 times due to rat. On one occasion, they simply unplug one of Maxis customer line then connect mine so that my line will work while waiting for fix biggrin.gif

If Maxis NGBB available, I can jump and get unlimited data for my mobile plan .

Wow, that escalate quicker than I thought.

Edit: Astro website brought me RM139.99.

Edit2: Astro Fibre service is not available at this address at the moment
*
I thought Astro fiber piggy back on Unifi infra.

Go termination route and wait for call.

Thanks, good tips to know. Well, I already setup for my DIY UPS, 1 for all my ONU, router, home CCTV, NAS...  sweat.gif
easier  sweat.gif

Recently heard a lot of Unifi slow, is this because too many users in 500Mbps, all the bandwidth used up ?

One of my fren plan to jump from Maxis to Unifi, will he facing the same issue?  hmm.gif
Because Maxis still using Unifi port if not mistaken
*
Apparently it is Unifi network issue. It will seem maximum profit and minimum effort from Unifi. Other ISP not affected.

Yes, I did sign up to the postpaid and paid RM 39.
I received the sim card on the spot.
Tmr, the contractor will install a new router.
Once the order is completed, I'll make a request to cancel the postpaid plan. I read at Unifi Mobile thread that it is possible to cancel and get refund.
too long. wait for next year
You can try your luck. I did mine with 2.5 months left.
*
This the reason I prefer termination method. No unnecessary bundles and hassle to cancel later.

every method has pros and cons.

- Termination method need to wait for the call which can take weeks.
- Need to be available to take the call, which can be tough if you're in a meeting or need to be in location where handphone is not allowed (example: chemical factory site).
- The time taken for the call to happen is also a financial loss if you are currently paying for a more expensive plan as changing plan at TM point is faster and you will opt into cheaper plan faster.

I chose the TM point as it is less hassle for me and I can take the actions to cancel the postpaid plan at my convenience, rather than waiting for someone else to call me.
*
No worries. There is no right or wrong. Most importantly you get what you want as end result. As I stated my reasons, I prefer sit and wait than drive to TM point, subscribe to something I don't need then request cancel later.

Thanks to Elon Musk we have Starlink. Unlimited satellite internet. Don't even have fair usage policy like all the mobile telco.

One good thing about Australian internet is they don't use PPPoE.
Just plug it in and DHCP. No VLAN, no configuration, no nothing.
Then they give static IPv6 prefix for everyone. /48

This whole setup works using a Mikrotik L3HW switch.
*
Do we have other ISP using DHCP method?

Anyone got experience with Unifi Skyworth router + modem combo device?

Earlier this week TM suddenly replaced our existing Fiberhome modem (which was working fine) with the current Skyworth device. Since then, nightmare begin to happen, connection disconnect randomly sometime twice a days, sometime once every few days. When nobody home to reboot the device manually, files get out of sync.

Didn't manage to get through their 100 until now, keep suggesting to DIY through their app. Chat through their agent on app and all she does is restart the port but problem still persist.

Anyone got any tips that can configure the Skyworth so that it reconnect automatically when the connection drop?

Yours is which model. I get the sk-g7220 but I use it in bridge mode only, No issue here.
