China ROM OTA on my Color OS 15 no problem at all.

I never try Oppo / Oneplus china ROM , i have read some online and have some question on it.


If we get the phone with China ROM , we will get normal OTA update right By ColorOS?

But i do read that if China ROM flash to Global Oxygen ROM , then wont able to get OTA update?

Bro. BTW mine is Oppo Find X6 Pro with China ROM not One plus 13. But my Oppo is running Color OS 15 Android 15 & yes you can get OTA update from Oppo currently the latest update is May 1 2025. Color OS 15 is fun to use , I don't see the need for One plus 13 users to flash to oxygen OS at all. Based on my searches on Shopee only 512gb One plus 13 is available in global ROM, dunno why like this this time, previous OnePlus 12 is available in global ROM on all version. I think OnePlus wanted to make money not lose money this time.

i saw the Global ROM price at around Rm4k++ for 16+512gb , huge price compared to China ROM LOL , and some Laz/Shopee Seller that mention the oneplus 13 they sold was done "FLASH" to oxygenos OS , i do read some on reddit that if flash to Oxygen OS then each time OTA have to re-format the phone , or ROOTING the phone to get the OTA , but might sacrifice banking-apps because bank apps might detect your phone rooted and not able to use. That make me confuse a little bit so i'm here to looking for the answer.

Officially even among Shopee China ROM Fon set sellers only 512gb is available in global ROM. Meaning OnePlus this time only made 512gb the only real global ROM set, if you buy 256gb with "global ROM" , there's no guarantee what will happen with the OTA or apps compatible in the future

Yes. It flashed with OxygenOS but OTA function is disable, you will see no network connection when enter the update section.

Banking apps are not affected even if you're rooted as long as you get the KernelSU Next & its components updated & running well. So far banking apps I tried (HLB, PBB, MBB, UOB & CIMB), even e-Wallets app (TNG, Grab & Boost).

You can always use unlock the bootloader again, flash back to ColorOS & lock the bootloader if you want hassle free. I found no advantages using OyxgenOS beside bunch of bloatwares needed to be remove in ColorOS. Performance wise, it's almost identical plus faster OTA.

Base on your explanation , mean that each time there is OTA update , i have to go xda to download the latest OTA and manually flash to the phone? People who wish to flashed to OxygenOS is just to get those Google Assistant active? As i know China Rom can't active the "hello google" , i believe the OxygenOS can be use right as its consider as "GLOBAL" Rom. And also might can be use the AI feature in the phone due to china ROM might not able to use some AI feature in here as it cloud base , like the china IQOO i;m using something will miss connect to the cloud base to china while using the AI function.

The china version with OxygenOS bootloader is locked, so you cannot flash it manually unless you unlock the bootloader. In order to do this, your data will be wiped everytime bootloader is locked or unlocked.

As long as you know the steps, OTA manually is quite simple just not that convenient as doing on the phone itself.

ColorOS comes with Breeno (小布) & OriginOS is BlueLMCopilot (小v), both is powerful enough to do most the tasks that other AI tools can do with better integration with the OS itself, unlike Gemini AI which is works better in Pixel phones with full features.

Now it make me more understand , no wonder i keep on read the comment on reddit saying that if want to OTA then have to wipe the data everytime. So anyway to update the OTA without needed to Wipe the data?


Yes i'm using the 小v , just that sometime it will need sometime to load to give me answer as it need connect to china cloud base , sometime might get Network error and fail to give answer , now i using chatgpt & Gemini more as it can give me more faster answer , just need to enter the apps to get my answer each time , more steps , but it work 100%

If next time i would like to try Oppo/Oneplus , definitely just use their ColorOS15 instead of flash to Oxygen OS.

The only way to OTA without wipe data is rooted & bootloader unlocked. No other way, for OxygenOS. If you are OK with ColorOS then no need, everything is working fine included OTA.

For Breeno AI, there is slight delay on response due to server located in China. It depends on your ISP routing, so far UNIFI & UMobile is working fine for me, for sure not as fast as Gemini or ChatGPT.

Hey, I recently bought the China version flashed to OOS on version 15.0.0.305(EX01). Everything went pretty well but the banking apps like MAE or Cimb Octo loads ridiculously slow (compare with my previous OP11 on OOS as well). It will load eventually but there seems to be huge delay every time I launch the app.

Do you experience the same? Any further insights will be much appreciated. Thanks.

did you lock it back after flashing?

The phone is already in OOS when I received it. The seller flashed it for me.

Does it make a difference if I lock the bootloader? Anyway, I just checked with adb and confirm it's locked.

it will since bank app wont work if it is rooted or unlock ... worst now if you are on dev mode or got shizuku all cant work

Shouldn't have flashed to oos since cos is pretty nice to use these days.
